I figure Apple was well prepared to lose money on their guaranteed dollars for a year or two, nothing should change that. They could easily give September free, or a discounted first year, to all existing Apple TV customers and new device purchasers. That’s how we became Apple TV subscribers, it came with a device… for a while… now we happily continue paying because their shows are good quality.

That’s not how I became a subscriber, so maybe don’t speak for “we”. And, that doesn’t get you the add ons for MLS or anything else.

As I tried to say earlier (using different words), an introductory deal could easily be offered to existing and new customers. They have a history of doing that. I suspect Apple will do whatever pushes subs the best.

The first time there is a conference championship game with CFP implications, and the game is only available on Apple+, the value of an exclusive streaming deal with subscriber kicker bonuses will finally be realized, and obvious to all.
That could have happened with a UW, uo, or Utah dream season in the next year or two. But that's out of the question now, so I will gladly take it with an elite OSU squad tearing through a newly forged PAC-Mtn league.

1st weekend (2 weeks for a few) - Mountain West: 6-9..........PAC 12: 13-0. Says it all.
Best case (dreaming?): Beavs win PAC-12 in 2023 and Conferences come begging for them in 2024.

I listened to the radio broadcast during today's game. Scott Barnes was on the half time show talking about a future conference for the Beavers. Nothing really new was said. I'm not the best at taking notes, so help me out if I goofed anything up.
* Talked with current athletes and they want the best possible competition
* Current athletes want regional competition and not have to travel across the country
* Wants to build something special regionally
* Travel is a problem for the Olympic sports as they compete twice a week
I was left under the impression there's a large team of legal experts (attorneys) looking at "everything".

Big 12 to an extent. * Wants to build something special regionally That ship has sailed. * Travel is a problem for the Olympic sports as they compete twice a week Going to be a problem for most schools. Football is king. I was left under the impression there's a large team of legal experts (attorneys) looking at "everything". This is the big key.

Apples and oranges. MWC teams played two road games at USC, and at Washington, Texas A&M and Iowa. The Pac-12 did not play against a ranked team, played three games against FCS opposition, and almost every game at home. Nobody is coming begging for us.

Might be the Pac12 are playing teams "below" their level, MWC "above"? How many Pac12 teams played teams equivalent to UW, OSU, USC x2, A&M, Iowa, even WSU? Utah vs FL, Buffs vs TCU are the only two equivalent opponents. Although one might argue FL!?

“Broke Pac-Mountain”, LMAO. Well done. 🤣👏🏻 Where u been dude? We been talkin broke Pac for some time. Not here, obviously. 😉 I probably just check in 2-3 times a year here is all, lol. But credit to where it’s due - for whoever it was that came up with Broke Pac-Mountain, they oughta take a bow. That was pretty clever. 😂

But, waiting for take off on a delayed flight home... so being the broke buster! 🤔 OK not nearly as clever!

She said nothing new in that interview on CBS as she gave the political response to the commentator’s questions. Didn’t expect anymore from her in that vein.

It obviously doesn't matter what I think or want, since I would have voted for the Pac-10/12 to stay together, but as we drift around, not knowing what the future holds, I find myself less and less interested in one of the Midwest conferences picking up the Beavers. I guess it could be kind of OK if it was the Big-"12", given that there would then be 6 ex-Pac-12 teams in the conference (if they take WSU too) and a western division would be doable, but I'm not sure I really want to be part of a mega-conference. Let's say you're in a conference with 18-20 teams. There is still only one champion of that conference. Even if all teams were created equal, which they most certainly aren't, a given team would only have 1-in-18 or 1-in-20 chance of winning the conference. I'd prefer a smaller conference. I just keep wishing that there could be some way to have the Pac-2 grow with enough good teams that it would still be a "Power 5" conference. I guess that's not possible, but that is my dream. If that can't happen, the Beavers' best route to the playoffs in football might be to be in a "Group of 5" conference. The current plan for the 12-team playoff is that it will include "the top 6 conference champions", including "at least one Group of 5 team". That will almost certainly change if there are only 4 power conferences, with more teams in each one, especially given that the most influential teams/media will demand a change, but I have a feeling that there will ALWAYS be "at least one Group of 5 team". I know that "dropping down" to a Group of 5 conference could be devastating to our ability to keep our coaches and players, thus damaging our chances of competing, and could really hurt baseball, but it may be the best path for the Beavers to the college football playoff. In short, I just want to keep believing that we can do what Scott Barnes would like to do: Have a "regional conference", "at the highest level". Go Beavs! Mike '84
