Kliavkoff is the comissioner of the Pac-12.
The Pac-12 still exists and is playing football THIS WEEKEND.
There's a lot more going on that the Pac-12 needs to pay attention to to get through this year than just switching conferences right now, and we need a person at the helm. For now, that person is Kliavkoff.
From what has been
published, Kliavkoff is NOT in charge of rebuilding the conference. He's taking care of tge day to day stuff.
If OSU & WSU rebuild the conference there likely will be a new person in charge, but for now it would be self destructive to can the guy just because most of the University Presidents and ADs are nuts.
If there's an expansion plan announced, there might be a change announced, or a #2 brought on (which could turn into the #1 person at a later date).

He is one of the actors slated for a potential Broke Pac Mountain commercial if the merger goes through. 
Btw, everyone is impressed with the MWC commissioner. She has her act together is what I keep hearing. |
