Not a nuts and bolts contract post, this is about how it affects each sport based on what sports the 11 (13 with the PAC 2) participate in.
Football - 14 team conference with affiliate member Hawaii. Basketball (Men and Women) - 13 teams Baseball - 10 teams Cross Country - 11 Men, 13 Women Golf - 13 Men, 11 Men Gymnastics - 6 Women Soccer - 2 Men, 14 Women Softball 11 teams Swimming/Diving - 0 Men, 10 Women (No OSU) Tennis - 7 Men, 12 Women (no OSU) Track - 9 Men, 13 Women Volley Ball - 13 Women Wrestling - 4 Men
So to break it down. The following sports would need to become affiliates for sure: M Soccer and Wrestling. MWC wrestling already has an affiliation with the BIG 12.

Hawai'i plays in the Big West. Five men's soccer teams. Oregon State and San Diego State play in the Pac-12. The other three schools play in the WAC. I am not sure what happens there. I really hope that the play is to add 8+ AAC teams for baseball purposes.

Baseball will be an issue I think.....just not the same level of competition. I'm not convinced we will be able to lure the same level of recruit long term......I may be wrong, it's just my gut feeling

Yeah, several sports will most likely be taking a step back. The Big 12 would be a great fit for a bunch of them. Baseball, gymnastics, wrestling...not to mention pretty strong softball. Of course there's good football and men's basketball. Too bad that most likely won't be OSU's landing place.

It makes sense for all parties to keep that RPI opportunity alive since the BIG10 blows.

Yep.....I know a lot of people on here seem to think the reverse MW thing would be best....but for health of all sports the Big12 is a no brainer.

Uhh, I keep hearing now the Big12 is in play, uhhh. no. I'm not saying it is in play......maybe it's completely off the board, but do we know that for sure? My comment is more directed at those on here who would choose a MW merger over an invite to the B12
