I have an athlete at UNL and one at OSU. My oldest was in attendance last night, their athletic department has been promoting this for months.
I would say Lincoln is a nice college town, streets are clean, lots of restaurants & bars downtown close to the stadium. BUT, If you leave the “railyard” area it’s a whole lot of nothing

My daughter plays HS girls volleyball, she mentioned the game, and wanted to watch. Streaming the B1G Network on Sling, it was constantly freezing/ glitching all during the contest. I said to her I wondered how much money that Nebby had to pay to get butts in seats - All I got was a frown - lol.
But seriously, other than a new record for a women's sport, trying to see the match from the cheap seats was I am sure a real fun prospect, without binoculars. At least with football, the field is much bigger, and the area of play is more visible. I bet normal attendance for a top 10 women's volleyball game is probably no where near what a men's basketball team draws on any given day. I will say, having now been to many girl's volleyball tournaments, it is a lot of fun to watch, when the matched teams are good.

Makes me laugh about UCLA and USC going to the Big10 and their empty stadiums. Also like it or not but that conference has real marching bands in the Big10. Not the cheap dressed outfits of Washington or Whoregon. I think these newbies will have a thing or two to learn how the big boys play. |

It was the Big Ten version of NHL's Winter Classic, without ice and snow. You can't see a thing, and watch the action on the big screen, but you attend because it's something to do, and the Bugeaters support their university. And Nebraska football hasn't had anything to cheer about since Riley's second season. They did just have a highly-touted transfer get arrested for breaking into a pot store, so it looks as if they're returning to their traditional football values.
