"If your Arkansas, does that worry you?"...Ha! I remember a pre game radio show earlier in the season where Parker asked Casey about Zachs production at the plate. Casey responded that "Zach better figure out where the strike zone is or he is going to be sitting in the dugout." At the time I thought while candid it was a bit harsh as a response. With another look at this at bat, we'd have to say mission accomplished! The magic of Pat Casey.

Greatest walk in Oregon State history? Greatest inning in Oregon State history??? The greatest inning happened on 6/25/2006 when OSU came back from the dead with 7 runs in the 4th inning to take the lead from North Carolina. Tyler Graham steals 3rd, a couple of Carolina errors, and a Bill Rowe homer turned the series around.

Great stuff but no errors. One wild pitch, though. The top of the fourth was not particularly pretty, which led to the necessity of a big bottom of the fourth. Gunderson threw a great 0.1 in the top of the fourth, though. Gunderson pitched himself into a two-on jam in the top of the fifth, but was able to induce Benji Johnson into an inning-ending groundball to third. The four-run third against Irvine in 2007, all runs unearned to put the game away before it had even started was entertaining. The four-run seventh against Washington in 2018 to turn a 5-5 tie into an insurmountable 9-5 lead was great. Madrigal on first with one out. Larnach battled in a nine-pitch at bat before striking out, but Madrigal was able to swipe second. With an open base, Washington walked Rutschman. Gretler doubled down the leftfield line. And Nobach hit a homerun to complete scoring to give Oregon State a 9-5 lead. What is crazy is that each of the nine runs came with two outs. Malone homered to leadoff the eighth. And then Oregon State tacked on an additional four runs with two outs. 13 of the 14 runs with two outs! Only Malone's run on his homer was scored with fewer than two outs. Abel gave up a walk to start the seventh, but got the next three. Abel struck out the side in the eighth on 14 pitches. The four-run eighth against North Carolina to turn a 6-3 deficit into a 7-6 lead was also entertaining. Zak Taylor led off the inning with a base hit to chase Caden O'Brien, who had pitched 4.1 innings of one-hit ball to that point. Armstrong pinch ran for Taylor. Madrigal singled. Armstrong swiped third on a passed ball, and Madrigal swiped second on a wild pitch. Cadyn Grenier worked an 11-pitch walk. Rutschman cleared the bases with a double, 6-6. Malone struck out looking. Pat Casey went all Obi-wan Kenobi and put in Steven Kwan, who was intentionally walked. Gretler walked on five pitches. And then Jack Anderson walked to score Rutschman. Armstrong's awful bunt ended what could have been an even more amazing inning. Mully had come in in the seventh and was still throwing, giving up a leadoff walk. Mully got the next three on five pitches, stranding the leadoff hitter at second. The ninth may have been even more entertaining with Madrigal hitting the first pitch into left center for a double, Grenier bunting him over, and Larnach driving in Madrigal. Rutschman struck out on three pitches. Malone then hit a two-run shot to make it 10-6. Jones singled, Gretler reached on an error, and Anderson singled to bring home Jones. 11-6. Mully gave up a leadoff ground-rule double to right but got the next three on seven pitches FTW. All of Oregon State's offense in the five-run third in the second game against Mississippi State was also a gem. Grenier doubled to left, Larnach singled to right, Rutschman singled to center, Gretler singled to center, and Malone homered to right center all with two outs! Abel's two four-pitch walks and base hit allowed in the bottom of the third marred the bottom half of the inning, though.
