Believe what you want to believe - there is some interesting and funny stuff circulating in the aftermath of the great PAC exodus last week. This is a sampling of what's been reported.
When the Presidents were to convene and approve the Grant of Rights, Oregon and Washington were "no shows". At that point, the deal collapsed.
Apple's counter offer of $25m was short of expectation but not a deal breaker. Having to renew subscriptions yearly and Apple's demand that the schools pay for the production of events torpedoed the agreement.
Washington's President said when she was informed the best part of the deal was an escape clause after 3 years, "that told me everything I needed to know".
ASU's President Crow said the Apple proposal was fascinating. There was all kinds of future technology involved. You could stream a game from anywhere in the world and then with a stroke on your phone, hop from game to game. "It was like Star Wars and we actually liked it".
Arizona President Robins likened the Apple offer to "selling candy bars to support your Little League".
When asked what he thought of the BIG-12 Commissioner Yormark, he replied, "I like him, he's aggressive".
I thought it interesting (and perplexing) that every school professed how sorry they were to leave the PAC-12 but because of instability and a murky financial future, "they were forced to leave".

They were forced to leave like the Russians had to protect themselves from Ukrainian aggression.

I wish we would have had an escape clause on our current deal, could have renegotiated it 4d-5 years ago.
I'm sure the ACC wishes it had an escape clause instead of being bound to ESPN until 2036.
I have never cheered for the SEC. Now I will when they play the Big Ten and the Big 12.

We are a founding member of the conference, and are left high and dry......F em all
