After rigorous tryouts, USA Baseball pared down their 40 select national prospects and named the 20 man USA 15u baseball team. Honored on that 20 man team are two 2026 Beaver committed recruits, Catcher Teagan Scott and Outfield Blake Bowen. Scott is 5-11 and 197 from South Salem HS and Bowen is 6-3,and 198 from King HS in Riverside, CA. Both are Honor Roll students.
The 15u Team USA will spend two days on Sept. 9 and 10 practicing in Miami before heading to Santa Domingo to playing a series of games against the 15u teams representing the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. The team will also play a fall series TBA.
A little info on both players
Teagan Scott has advanced defensive skills, a strong arm with a catcher's velo of 76 mph last year and a 1.88 POP time, Skilled at blocking low pitches, his foot and glove work are textbook. A good hitter with power potential. In 2022, he recorded an 89 mph exit velo measurement. He has excellent speed and ran a 7.04 sixty recently. A freshman this year, his Saxon team finished the year with a 25-7 record in the 6A Central Valley League. Teagan plays a lot of summer baseball - New Level, Jr. College Prep McNeill and Team USA. He has made 10 All Tourney Teams in his young career. When he arrives in Corvallis it won't be the first time he's ever buckled some shin guards. Teagan is ranked #175 by RPG and # 3 in Oregon. PBR has him at #150 nationally and #2 in Oregon.
Blake Bowen is another "toolsy" outfielder coming to Corvallis. Bowen is a gifted multi-sport athlete that excels on the gridiron as well as the diamond. Great frame, and some freshman metrics that catch your eye. He's really fast and ran a 6.74 sixty last spring. Excellent range in the outfield and the arm to go with it - OF velo of 90 mph. He hits with power (3 HR as a freshman) with exit velo measured at 102 mph. Blake is ranked #82 on the RPG National Top-500 and the 10th best prospect on the California Top-150. PBR has him ranked #59 nationally and also #10 in California. Blake played on an MLK prep team as a freshman with 6 other D1 baseball recruits. His travel team is the powerful Canes West team that profiles in every big national event.
Bowen's exceptional athleticism have him as a bono fide college football prospect. As a freshman WR and OLB, competing in the BIG VIII Conference against Cali powers, Corona-Centennial and Norco, Blake accumulated 762 all purpose yards and 7 TD's. He ran for 127 yards on 24 carries and had 34 receptions for 635 yards.
Two outstanding recruits that join slugging Aussie CIF Josh Nati, RHP Keegan Matson and RHP Grady Saunders in the 2025 OSU class.
