I don’t think the legislators wanted to hamper any fair process of realignment. But to “save” one school from Oregon and leave the other to fail is what has happened. Like it or not, we are no longer on equal footing as Oregon. Too bad legislators couldn’t prevent that.

This move is now reality and may motivate other legislators to see just how this will affect another State University and tax payers, and state budget appropriations. Legislative action could take plane before the 2024-25 season. IF enough of the right folks wanted it.

Well, you could make a good case: OSU enrollment is almost 10,000 higher than UO. A higher percentage of Oregon HS grads attend OSU than UO Tuition is lower for those HS grads at OSU than at UO A unilateral move by one state institution to undermine the other which provides more value to Oregon

Isn't Evens the guy that wanted to separate OSU Cascades from OSU? It was an attempt to decrease OSU's income and increase wou's.
