Once the full effects of our demotion come to bear, it will absolutely be considered a body bag game. We can schedule those anywhere, should never do so to allow oregon to assuage some of their guilt Really? We’ve recruited like a MWC team for years and still beat them. The problem will be keeping the staff Losing staff = losing recruits. We are where we are right now (in terms of this season) because we are no longer recruiting like a MWC team. IF we get demoted to MW we need to have an all hands on deck approach, raise a ton of dough and earn our way into a promotion in four years. There is no long term solution to accepting status as a MWC school

I'm pissed. This is all Fox's fault. I will not watch their programming past this year. In fact I refuse to watch anything beyond OSU past this year. Screw college football and the money grab. They won't feel it until people start tuning out, and that is where I'm at. This will happen again in a few years when the college football elites organize their own league of 16 or so teams and everyone else will be the have nots. That might actually be interesting especially if they have something like the premier league and have relegation and promotion.

Agree to play them in 2024, it's at Reser. Then back out of the rest of the contract.

Deeply disappointing.
Also, not the least bit surprising.
Big $$$ kills everything.

That's from 10:05 am this morning.....that is not anything new. Many of us were working at 10:05 am this morning and would rather not dig through 50 posts to find the headline. Have you ever considered not being a douche as your default posting style? Maybe Judge will jump to the Big 18 too.

Ruined college football and college sports in general. Destroying long standing traditions. Ruined our political sphere. Just a giant sucking black hole of evil in the zeitgeist.

Oregon's path to anything meaningful just got infinitely more difficult. They are the cannon fodder in this new mega conference. Good luck $ucks. You're going to need it.
Here's a prediction. OSU will make the CFB playoff before Hole. And it will be as a G5 school.
Also, I don't think this money grab nonsense holds up. No amount of money will offset the nonsensical. This will run it's course, and the reality will supersede the dollar signs everyone is chasing right now once all these runway models start having to put this wet dream/exercise of hubris into actual motion.
Then the question will be, does the "left over" schools let these charlatans back into whatever we have built in their absence after reality beats the mother loving sheet out of them? Personally, if you bail now, you're dead to me forever. At all costs.

I don't wish ill on the athletes. They don't make these decisions, but they'll pay the price for the excess travel and missed class time.
But it would not bother me to see UW or UO's basketball teams get stranded for 4-5 days in Minneapolis during a blizzard or get stuck in a massive traffic jam on the New Jersey turnpike or have pane trouble and be stranded on the tarmac in Iowa for 4-5 hours.
And if Washington estimates an added $10 million in travel costs leaving from Seattle, a hub with connections everywhere in the country, how much more is Oregon going to pay leaving from Eugene, with maybe one or two expensive commercial flights to not many markets? Most teams other than football or men's basketball fly commercial, not charter.
Eugene to State College for that volleyball, softball or baseball game is going to be an all-day affair.

My neighbor said Phil just bought the school a jet or loaned one but I did not see it anywhere online but he has been full of crap before.
