You know Kansas State has a good football team, right? Top 25. I want to say they finished 15ish. Yes, University of Kansas and Kansas State are two different schools. I know that. Oregon State would do better in the BIG12 than U of Kansas, hence the utter stupidity of college football. Point being is that there are conferences with sh*t schools that are grandfathered in and really provide nothing to the conference, but they still get to ride on the coattails of the more successful programs. Ah, I thought you were talking about the entire state, which is how I feel about a couple neighboring (to Kansas) states. Being a fan of one of the schools being left behind, I have to disagree with your comments about grandfathered schools. Wins are good, but focusing only on wins leaves behind history, tradition, rivalries and pageantry—all the things that make college football fun.

Time to break up the monopoly, spread media revenue among schools or takeaway their legal amateur status and all the protections and benefits that come with it. Yep. I'm a proponent of the European Soccer model. You have 4 to 5 divisions with all of 133 DI football schools and you have promotions and relegations based on performance for that year. You can work your way up or down. What would happen to the Civil War?
