Hey all. Definitely has to be brutally hard for you guys. All we have wished for over the years was to play better teams in a better conference. The money part of it was the side bonus. Looking at a sort of relegation to a "lower" conference would definitely be a massive disappointment. All we see right now is maybe an expanded MWC or whatever new conference. I know you guys dont think very highly of us, but I do know our fans enjoy the games between the two schools. Might be a regular thing in the future it's looking like. I think this article sums it up nicely for those of us left out in the cold. www.yahoo.com/sports/failed-leaders-pathetic-backstabbers-ruining-162958951.html

And where as you are very successful in football, there are considerations for all sports that we have to account for. We'll see what happens, but it doesn't look good for OSU or WSU.

That's completely understandable. And was sort of the point of my post that all this has a lot more negative impact on you (and wazzu) than it does on any of us in the MW. It's a sh*t situation all around.
In the end we were hoping for an invite to the BIG12. We are a better fit in that conference. They expressed interest in us a Memphis for future expansion, but that was before all this chaos. PAC12 imploding means better expansion options for the BIG12.

Wouldnt be surprised if that happened.

Yep. I'm a proponent of the European Soccer model. You have 4 to 5 divisions with all of 133 DI football schools and you have promotions and relegations based on performance for that year. You can work your way up or down.

College football has become a semi-professional league. Kids get paid via NIL, Universities are only focused on money, us fans are left with scraps. I just want to enjoy good football games against quality opponents. I guess that only happens if you have lots of money and prestige...

Why are they still there? Put programs like OSU/BSU in there who are hungry and want to prove they belong. Who the hell cares about Kansas?

I liked Judge Smails post and then I took away my like after thinking about it. College athletics are screwy, because they basically gave NCAA a monopoly in exchange for Title IX. Football should be outside of Title IX. Until then, college athletics will continue to be screwy IMO.

You have to figure out to get outside of Title IX to make anything like that work. It cannot work until then.

Top 25. I want to say they finished 15ish.

Oregon State would do better in the BIG12 than U of Kansas, hence the utter stupidity of college football. Point being is that there are conferences with sh*t schools that are grandfathered in and really provide nothing to the conference, but they still get to ride on the coattails of the more successful programs.
