At this point, drop the PAC and MWC conference names and create a new west coast/mountain conference. the PAC12 name won't carry any prestige now.

If I'm OSU, Wazzu, and the bay area schools, I try to convince 6 MWC teams to leave in 24/25, as that type of conference probably has a better shot of getting more TV money than just adding the 4 former Pac schools to the MWC. Would require riding out a couple of rough years as independents but something like OSU, Wazzu, Cal, Stanford, Fresno State , Boise State, Nevada, UNLV, Colorado State, and San Diego State is probably more lucrative (and competitive for the playoffs) than those schools plus Air Force, New Mexico, San Jose State, Wyoming, and Utah State. Of course, it's possible the bay schools don't want to play with Cal State schools, but at this point I don't know what other options they have. I think that scenario, for various reasons, is unlikely. But if it were, I'd take issue with some of your choices, specifically Fresno State. Since joining the conference, Utah State has had the third best record in both Football and Basketball, better than Fresno. USU is an R-1 research university, Fresno State and Boise State are not. Boise State is hardly better than a community college academically. I would substitute Utah State and New Mexico (OK, New Mexico has not performed well in football or basketball recently, but they are an R-1 university, and pretty much the only game in town in the state of New Mexico.) for Fresno State and Boise State. Oh, and San Diego State is also not an R-1 university. I think we've learned throughout this that academics don't reallllllly matter. They're a nice to have, but if they were more than that then the B1G would've taken Stanford or Cal instead of Oregon. Obviously you know way more about the MWC than I do, I was really just going based on my own perception of football brands. It could be that Cal and Stanford don't want norcal competition as well, but I think Fresno State is pretty clearly one of the top football brands in the league.

Boise State is hardly better than a community college academically Be careful. This is the line of thinking is what partially contributed to the demise of the PAC12. Dont start throwing academics into a discussion about money. You were all up for San Diego St. joining the conference as a R2 research institution, but Boise State is an R2 research institution as well and there was no interest in them. Just an assumption that SDSU was more valuable cause they were located in So Cal.

Frankly f%#* the PAC. Let it die the death it deserves and the people who ruined it can go ruin new conferences. Join the MWC or go crazy as an independent
