The Giants just got AJ Pollock from the Mariners. Unfortunately, that takes up another outfield spot and lessens the chance he would be a September callup.

September callups aren't what they used to be, teams can only expand by 2 spots now.

Just hoping as a Giants fan they dont deal him at the deadline. Same, but luckily it sounds like they're really high on him. How about a slightly used Heliot Ramos instead?

Hoping for a Conforto and Meckler outfield soon. Rumor is the Twins are shopping Larnach. Good. I hope he gets traded. Idon't want any part of an organization that gives at-bats to a 30-year-old, .170-hitting strikeout machine at the expense of a much younger and potentially superior prospect. I also think Larnach should get a first baseman's mitt and find a coach to work with in the off-season to learn the position and make himself far more marketable. Wouldn't do him much good with the Mets, but then again, Alonzo is always injured. But the last motel I stayed in was a Best Western, not a Holiday Inn Express.

I am curious to see what they do with Dallas Keuchel, because they have to put him on the 40-man roster or waive him. And the Twins would have to drop somebody to sign Kuechel. The Twins have a top-five staff but bottom 10 bats. The Twins are dead last in the majors against lefties in batting average, OBP, and OPS. Larnach's problem is that he is another lefty bat on a team that desperately needs fewer lefty bats. Oh well. Hopefully, a spot opens up for him soon. Unless the Guardians kick it into gear, it is hard to see the Twins not making it into the postseason.

September callups aren't what they used to be, teams can only expand by 2 spots now. And, usually, at least one of the call-ups is a pitcher. Teams also get an extra roster spot, if they play in a double-header.

Sacramento's manager is still Dave Brundage (Oregon State '86). Brundage has been a AAA manager every year since 2006. From 2006-2016, Brundage coached Tacoma, Richmond, Gwinnett, and Lehigh Valley. Brundage won the International League Championship in 2007 and won the AAA National Championship with Sacramento in 2019. In 1986, Brundage was the Pac-10 Northern Division's MVP and an All-American. He was an outfielder, pitcher, and first baseman. He hit .366 with eight homers, 44 RBIs, and 29 stolen bases. On the mound, he was Oregon State's ace, going 8-4 with a 3.19 ERA. At the time that he graduated, he was the third-best hitting baseball player in Oregon State history. 29 stolen bases was the Oregon State record that Bazzana just broke this last year. In 1986, he led Oregon State in batting average, hits, runs, doubles, triples, homers, walks, total bases, slugging percentage, and stolen bases. He also led the team in wins and complete games. He threw a complete game against Arkansas to open the 1986 Stillwater Regional and then played in the outfield, making the 1986 Stillwater All-Regional Team as an outfielder. He was the only Beaver so honored. That was the final regional that Oregon State played in until 2005. As such, he was the only player in Oregon State history to be named to an All-Regional Team until 2005. Oregon State won the Pac-10 North in both 1985 and 1986. In 1984, Oregon State lost the Pac-10 North Championship Game to Wazzu 7-2 in Portland.
