Meant to add. 5K/SC double is out of the question since finals for both are back to back on Day 1. BTW, if you're interested in seeing the meet in person, Langley is a 6 1/2 hr drive from Corvallis, 5 hrs from Portland (not counting border crossing time).  Or if you want to fly-in looks like the airport is right across the road. |

For 2022 the entry standard (World Championships) was 9:30, but for Budapest this year the standard is 9:23. Fetherstonhaugh ran 9:31.2. I think that's her personal record. The top three ladies were running 80 and 81 second laps. GF led for laps 4, 5, and 6. I'm guessing she knew the 9:23 threshold. On the last lap GF ran 79.2 but first and second place ran 72.2 and 73.7. Her future is bright and she may be running in the 9:teens soon.

The OSU Outdoor Records listing (as well as Athletic.net) shows Grace's previous best at 9:37.56, so she beat that by about 6.29 seconds! |

I don't know that Grace and Kaylee are still eligible for Cross Country this year, but their pictures are on the poster for the upcoming CC schedule. Pretty sure Kaylee has used up her T&F eligibility and maybe Grace. They've really elevated our T&F program - a big part of that is Coach Quintana:

I agree about Coach Quintana. The transfer portal for T & F gets no press but I could see some upper end transfers that want to be all-Americans and a pro contract.

I agree about Coach Quintana. The transfer portal for T & F gets no press but I could see some upper end transfers that want to be all-Americans and a pro contract. New shotput athlete coming in - 193-10 in the hammer, and 50-10.25 (says discus, but it's shotput) - which is better than our current school record. |
