I just checked it out---looked like a pretty bad ankle sprain---I don't think we'll see her playing again for awhile. 4.7 seconds left with her team up by 14 you would think she would just dribble the clock out instead of driving the lane into traffic trying to make a last second shot! |

Sontag has been out since the 1st game when they had to help her off the floor. Looked like a knee injury.

So, she never played, did see her walking around more, right ankle wrapped, but walking relaxed, easy. I suspect she was ready for "as needed" playing time. Netherlands did make it close at the end. They could have used Martha to deal with the pressure defense from Netherlands but in the end, a win.
That was a semi, finals sun, they play Slovenia at 10:30 our time. She's probably telling the coach, "hey, I'm all about loyalty to my country but Italy man, need to be ready for that !" or not.

Germany made the final but Martha & Lina Sontag did not play. Hope Martha is able to play with the team in Italy. GO BEAVS!
