2 new crystal balls which means 2 more recruits ready to commit to OSU. This is the projected Offensive Live class for 2024, and it's really good with strength in numbers. Once again, CJS and Coach M are crushing it. These kids have capacious frames and are destined to be future Pac12 Elephants on Parade.

This really is turning into a great class of O Lineman. Love to get these local kids. We have recruited the State of Washington well the past several years.

Like the OL recruits but it seems we are woefully lacking in recruiting the DL and LB positions.

Like the OL recruits but it seems we are woefully lacking in recruiting the DL and LB positions. It's probably not a top priority this class. In the past two classes we recruited... DL: Wright, Hickle, Howard, Collins, Johnson, and transfer Omotosho (Wyoming transfer). We lose Fa'amoe, Sio, Rawls, Shippen, and Golden. I expect we pull in some portal and maybe a 2 DL in 2024. So far we have Burnet who will likely play DE.he has room to grow at 6'3 240. LB: Jordan, Shaw, Chisom, Taylor, Saez (may play DL), Ah You (2022 mission kid), Hart (Illinois Transfer), and Tufaga (Utah transfer). We lose no ILB and Mccartan and Chatfield at OLB. Overall this class/portal should bring in 2-3 DL and maybe 2 LB if you assume injuries and transfers. I'll take a 300 lb 4 star DL in every class though. This class will have a heavy focus on OL, DB and WR. I'd expect us to be very active finding DL in the transfer portal this coming season to add some interior guys and get some experienced people in the trenches to help cover for the 2024 graduating class. OL we lose Bloomfield, Brewer, Levengood, and Gonzales with Fuaga/Gray possibly moving to the NFL. It will be the largest OL transition in Smiths tenure but unlike past coaches we are stacked big talent. Don't expect many freshman being forced into lineplay like we saw under past coaches with depth issues. It looks like we're pretty set up for the traditional 2-3 years as a starter and probably will not be backfilling with portal much in the future. Guys on the roster waiting to fill shoes are White (311), Lopez (301), Vinic (290), Miller (283 and experienced despite coming in as a project), Starck (300), Morano (285 another experienced guy who started as a project), and Elu (305). There are some other guys like Spencer, Strand, Johnson, and Voltin (367) who may surprise too. Spencer moved from TE and last year would switch uniforms and come in to be the third blocking TE in heavy sets. For those that follow recruiting you will notice some of our top OL recruits are waiting for their chance next year. This heavy OL class is your starters in two cycles (2025-2028 seasons). |
