From what I’ve watched of her in U19, Dom will push to start. She’s an Ellie Mack in the making, a natural finisher at all 3 levels. If we struggle to make shots again this year, I see her number coming up significantly. I agree! But holding back a bit until I see how Dom performs against the USA U19 Team. She scored 16 against USA. They were blown out BY OVER 40 points . Her shooting percent wasn’t good but drew alot of fouls 8-8 at the line

Starting 5: Raegan, Timea, Talia, Adlee, AJ IMO Just curious, do you have Talia running the point in this lineup?

Update after Italy tour: Reese -5 Bears-4 Gardener or Wisconsin freshman-3 AJ-2 Donovan -1 Possible two freshman starting Go besvs I like Rees and Beers up front. Not sure if Rees starts, but that combo should get bulk minutes together. There is no way that Gardiner is not a starter. She is arguably the best player on the team. She will start and play a lot. I think you may be right about Hunter at PG. In my opinion, Talia starts at the 2. It’s a more natural position for her than PG. She will thrive there, like she did her first year with the Beavs. I could see a line-up with AJ starting and not Rees. 50/50 in my mind on that one. Several other solid players ready to step into starting line-up or be quickly off the bench when needed.

The no doubt starters are: Beers, TvO, AJ, Gardiner. The 5th starter will change over the pre season.
Another question is who gets the most game minutes? Beers, TvO, AJ, Gardiner, and Adlee.
Surprise minutes: Dominka Paurova
Coaches have versatility in their lineups this season, and I suspect we will see a lot of players get minutes in the pre season

Hate to be a Debbie downer but Reese will be the better defender than gardener. Gardener prefers posting up these days because of her knee injury. Has lost mobility to create. Unless she is getting back her mobility from getting used to her injury. That’s why I prefer Reese down low with beers. Reese will be more mobile and will get the ball easier to beers in the end I think we get more points in this scenario then Gardiner starting. That’s why her minutes declined towards the end of last season. I hope I’m wrong. Don’t get me wrong. She can shoot really well in all three phases. But this level might slow her down from setting her shots up. I’m also not counting Talia as a possible starter. I think she will have to show she can get back to where she was first, thst is her confidence. We have a healthy AJ and the Polish freshmen who are confident shooters creating their shots that have better athletic ability than some others. Pre season this year will mean a lot for this team. These new players have talent time to get these starters jelled

The 2 freshman will be solid contributors. But I believe Talia will bounce back this season. And I think Gardiner is a beast. Rueck always makes an early season adjustment prior to conference beginning. This season will likely be no different. Game 1 starters will not be the same as game 10 starters.

TvO will be a starter. If she is fully healed from the mcl she will be back to where she was before last season. Add in a person she looked up to returning and I can see her really improving.
Raegan and Timea will also start. I'm not sure about the last two starters. I can see AJ and Adlee filling those positions but there will be competition from the freshmen, in particular, Donovyn.
Who runs the point is an interesting question. I think with Aleah's assistance TvO could become more comfortable there. Adlee commented that she was going to work on it over the spring and summer. Depending on how quickly she picks up on the offense Donovyn may get some minutes there. Let's not forget the effectiveness of our point post. How brave was Raegan to make the call to help bring the ball up, when asked Rueck said it was all her.
I'm really looking forward to this season. I think it is going to be an indicator of the direction the program is going. Last year was really tough and the year before wasn't that much better. The positive is that the team never hung their heads. They stayed positive through a very difficult season. The most obvious problem was not having a Mandy Close or Katie Faulkner on the bench. Jenny was not that person, I hope that Aleah will be.

Aleah will be a HUGE difference maker for our WBB team. I can't see TvO playing the PG position when we have 3 others who are legitimate PGs. TvO is far more effective for the team as a 2 guard. With Aleah's help, a PG will emerge. Maybe even a couple PGs.

For those who have been following things more closely than others, I have a general question. Did Adlee display anything on the court during the Italy trip to raise eyebrows, or to make an OSU fan think that she has stepped up her game from last season?
I see very little mention of her on this board, so I'm curious why that is....
On a personal note: I'm one of those who had Adlee pegged as a player who was going to make a big impact on our program - even if only as a scorer. We all saw flashes of it at the end of last season. But, I'm not sure of Rueck's assessment of her as a complete player.
Any ideas on this? GO BEAVS!!

I'll take a stab at the starters and rotation 1 Donovan 2 Talia 3 Adlee 4 Gardner 5 Reagan Backups getting the most minutes
AJ, Martha, Rees, Dom, Lilly
They'll be able to play big with Rees, Reagan and Timea in together.
They can play fast with Dono, AJ, Adlee, Dom, Timea
Tons of lineup options. Could run an elite shooting lineup out there with Talia, Lilly,Adlee, Dom, Timea

Excellent post believeinthebeavs. I'm not sure who starts, especially in the non-conference season, really matters that much, but who gets minutes will be very interesting. I agree with your three for sure starters, but beyond that there are a lot of players that will get a shot at minutes. Adlee and AJ will both play a lot and I expect freshman Dom and Donovyn will get a decent shot. I'm really curious to see the progress of Lily and Martha, and I expect Rees will contribute. This team seems to get along well and I'm excited to see them play this year.
