the Twitter video is pretty cool. Appears to be at a cemetery, In the video, he honored his grandfather, who died a year ago, and today was grandpa's birth date. Presumably the video was at grandpa's gravesite. Good kid

Big dude who likes seeing his opposite eating grass. To me what stands out is his excellent pass protection at tackle. Speed rushers at the level he was playing had zero chance.

St. Louis was traditionally the poor immigrant high school that had a rep for fierce play.

Edited: yay recruits. Also what's with 247 ditching composite as their primary? Seems like they would have done that years ago. Failed experiment?

Wilky is dead on. Want to correlate life expectancy then don't use spending. Focus on societal bad and good habits. The states that eat the worst, have the most poor health habits, highest crime rate and lack of active lifestyle will have the worst outcomes. It's not even a logical leap. People are terrible at dealing with outcomes on long time lines and we are great at snapping to the norms around them. Many researchers feel that spending should be focused on education and childhood poverty to improve life expectancy across the board. Wrong thread?

This article also provides the recruiting pitch that will resonate with level-headed young men - it won't work on those chasing flash or bling, but they aren't likely headed our way anyway..... 247sports.com/Article/Oregon-State-Recruiting-Rustin-Young-commits-212850910/"I really liked Corvallis, too. It’s a small city, so I liked that aspect. I’m not a big go-out guy and everyone I talked to there mentioned that it’s easy to just focus on your schooling and on football. You’re able to keep it simple.” (When I was considering OSU for graduate school, my future major professor described Corvallis as "a glass of milk - it's not very exciting, but it's good for you". He also bemoaned how nice it was, since graduate students would take their time finishing: "if Corvallis was more of a dump like where I went to grad school, all you would want to do is graduate and leave" - your mileage may vary, but he was right in my case, graduate school became *gradual* school, though I did finish after collecting all the "ten-yeared student" jokes). Go Beavers!
