UBC doesn't necessarily need to own a stadium to play in it. There are nice facilities in Vanouver. The former Olympic stadium, now known as BC Place, is about 50% larger than Reser. There is also a nice hockey arena right next door that could easily convert to basketball, about twice the capacity of Gill. The sticking point is whether there is suffiicient interest there in American style collegiate athletics. Calgary is the only one of those 3 with a reasonable sized stadium. Missed that. In that case I think BC would be great out of the box thinking.

They still play in the same 3A high school gym they’ve been playing in for the past 70 years. Despite multiple failed fundraising attempts to build a legit NCAA D1 arena. Heck, even Portland State managed that. I don’t deny they are Pac-12 caliber academically, but they’ve never prioritized athletics. www.kcra.com/article/wanted-sacramento-state-arena-for-college-basketball-tournament/6419845

Opened in ‘77. Still, kinda on the smallish side for a Pac 12 basketball facility.
