Who's in, who's out...

Warren is probably going to be one of those guys who benefits from playing under multiple systems going forward. I think he has a decent shot at some type of professional play, and the moves may have ultimately done more for his future than having played his full career at just one spot (not just OSU). There's something to be said for being able to pick up just one style of play.

I hated losing him at the time.

Happened upon St John’s vs BC game yesterday, so thought I’d check in on Taylor. Actually was a very good, back and forth game won by the Beagles. Taylor starts and played 30 minutes, going 10-3-3 with a steal. Overall played pretty well. Had back to back offensive sequences late in first half where he headed toward hoop and made nice dump off pass for an assist. Next time down he drove and made the basket himself. Despite that he doesn’t seem to be an integral part of offense and spends a lot of time hanging out near 3-point line.

His stats this year are pretty similar to his freshman year stats except for his shooting percentages — FG% down (but similar to last year), FT% way down (but still early) and 3-pt% way up to 43.5%. Given Pitino’s emphasis on D and Taylor’s new found acumen from distance, wonder if Taylor has a path to NBA as a 3 and D guy. His D isn’t there now (looked only Ok). Will be all about working hard. Certainly wouldn’t have mentioned Taylor and NBA in same sentence while he was at OSU.

Seeing Taylor play got me wondering about other ex-Beavers. Washington is averaging 8 and 8 at Texas Tech. Donavan Grant hit a 3 in his first appearance as a Hoya. Without going back and looking it up. I think he’s played 13 minutes across 3 games thus far. And Nick Krass is no where to be found. ESPN doesn’t have him on So, Miss roster, so I checked school website and it doesn’t either. Anyone know what happened?
