I like to start my Sunday mornings with "Meet the Press" but before I usually thumb through the channels for a warm up.
Right now there is Ultimate Frisbee on FS2, San Diego vs. Salt Lake. It's being played in what is probably a high school (or even junior high school) stadium and there may be 200 people in attendance.
They apparently have a media deal. Where is the freaking Pac 12?

So does the Pac-12. The current media deal still has more than a year on it before it expires. And we get a heck of a lot more money from it than the ultimate frisbee crowd. |

I mean the answer to your question is that we are kind of in a sports dead zone. You have baseball and Western Hemisphere soccer. Some stuff is going to come back online in about 2-3 weeks. But until then, sports are going to be kind of light. And on average viewership in general and specifically sports viewership is way down in this period, because everyone is doing something outside and/or travelling. You basically have the MAC of sports on TV right now, stuff that you would normally only see on The Ocho. |

It was kind of a sarcastic joke. I know Ultimate frisbee has pretty close to zero or negative media power. It was just a complaint that the Pac can't seem to get a media deal on its future.

He's not severly autistic......you'd probably just think that he was socially awkward. Ultimate is a great sport for kids that can't quite fit in with the traditional sports. It's very popular in Corvallis. |
