I always thought the Zidell property under the Marquam bridge would be a great location. Downtown, next to the river, bridges, S Waterfront buildings.

Yeah I can see the the LC property as an MLB park...but....The Memorial Coliseum property .....keep two sides of the 'glass palace' as the entrance to the ball park...home plate looks out at the Willamette river, downtown Portland and the west hills...beauty visual... It would be a great location. It would be sad to see the ol girl knocked down, but it's going to happen eventually. They would also need to demo the grain elevators next to the steel bridge, which would be prominent past the LF wall. They are an eye sore anyway. I don't know if they are functioning, but removing them from the Portland skyline would be a welcome sight.

Grain elevators can be beautiful. These are in Buffalo, along the Buffalo River.

Fascinating. I guess that answers my question - they do in fact work. Just not for long, or at least feasibly since they are pulling rail service from the site. Sounds like change is on the horizon. I would hate if they just throw up yet more combined small retail/multi-family living like they are doing everywhere else in the city. Make it something iconic. It's going to be a central feature on the city skyline. Definitely something unique and accessible to all should go there.
