I know he was hurt/redshirted(?) this last season. Is he likely to be back here next year? And how highly was he rated when he committed to OSU?? Center field.....correct??

We don't know. He is on the knights summer ball roster. He has not recorded any stats as of yet.
Second part is a pretty impressive LMGTFY candidate though lol. He was the 12th rated OF in the country and 58th overall recruit.

Correct - Early July has been the plan all along. The coaches have been "getting him ready" to play on that schedule.
Tough kid, has had some real setbacks with injuries but never waivered - he was determined to play. At one time, he was Prep Baseball Report's #1 ranked prospect in the country, a spot he held for a long time. Then he was hurt but the tools are still there - warp speed, throw it through a brick wall and can rake from the left side.
I opined about this a year ago - Macias-Reed-Turley, could be the second act of Melton-Meckler-Boyd or Kwan-Anderson-Larnach. It sets the stage for the best defensive outfield we have seen in a long time, if not ever - these guys flag everything and can all throw rockets to the bases.

If he can’t stay healthy,it’s all for naught. Availability is the key…he hasn’t been.

After two knee surgeries in two years, I’m a little skeptical he’ll be the speedster he was coming out of high school.

That would be the pessimistic view or perhaps, the more cautious view.
Orthopedic Surgeons can be really good repairing joint injuries - they have remarkable tools and the procedures are improving every day. There are now many documented cases of joints being better than ever and that would be the basis for the optimistic view.
The good news with Tyree is I believe his knee injuries occurred once on both knees, not twice on the same knee.
