I was an ametuer bodybuilding for a bit. 4 months can have amazing results. Here is the deal you have to buy into the whole thing and look around 60 percent of people are overweight another 20 would be but genetics allow them to eat like slobs. It isn't easy. The lifting and working out id the easy parts. It is the food. Some guys like myself have to watch their food like a hawk others have to force feed. Very hard power to them if they get these kids to commit. Guys like Rodgers, cooks and Storm did.

You and I are talking about two different things.
I agree with you on on-field schemes. And I doubt that Andersen would disagree. He has said many times that his job is to put kids in a position where they can succeed athletically.
But that is not what I'm talking about. Apart from on-field scheme Andersen has his own overall system of coaching, that may have him coming off as too much of a control freak for some people. When he first started he had all the players wear "Respect the process," T-shirts, spend a lot of time reading his code of conduct, and select team leaders/counselors. The goal of all this is to instill an awareness of his expectations of players' conduct and attitudes, both on and off the field. And he has said, in interviews, that these expectations are something he will not compromise. If there is a purge coming, I suspect this may be a reason for it.

Very hard power to them if they get these kids to commit. Guys like Rodgers, cooks and Storm did. In my day bodybuilders used to bulk up to train down. In other words, they would lift for strength (low reps) until they got to a certain point of muscle mass and then lift for cuts (high reps). Andersen was quoted in the media as talking about strength, which is (or was) more like power lifting (maximum weight, low reps). Power lifters reach a ceiling eventually, and some of the ones I knew resorted to steroids. That Andersen was quoted in the media as talking about "strength," doesn't necessarily mean he was talking about 1 to 3 reps and power lifting. He may have been speaking more generically. Progress is easier to make on reps. Oregon State has had guys specially train for the pro camps who made a lot of progress during the time between football and the pro camps. The pro camp lift is a set bench lift with your number of rep total representing your score.

We're 2-7. The fact that we had 38,000 at kickoff is fairly impressive, IMO. If you think Reser was empty yesterday, you should have watched the Utah-UW game. The endzones at Husky Stadium were completely empty save for the band. Losing + lousy weather makes for poor attendance (UW was even coming off a blowout win). 38k was the "announced crowd." There's no way the actual attendance was anywhere near that. Probably more like 27-29k. Losing record+poor weather+$80= empty seats.

A) you do not ready much in the off season... much was made of the improvement is our workouts/weight room; B) you have never coached... as coaches new to a school regularly adjust their system/expectations early on whether at the HS or college or pro level. you think that Andersen is running the exact system on O and D he ultimately envisions? C) you can't ask players to perform what is not possible for them to do... if they don't "get it" you can't run it... jack of all master of none is where we are now. D) "our spread is run heavy... emphasis on a strong run game..." and we have averaged over 5 ypc in several games on very limited attempts in most cases. As yesterday showed, we had ample opportunities to run the ball right at UCLA with success and instead out the ball into the wet/damp hands of a QB not having a good day... and not a real running threat, especially after the success he had at Utah and UCLA having the week to adjust. E) you're entirely welcome to you opinions... but, don't discount other's when you obviously have not been as current as some. F) yes... I have lifted religiously and trained others... obviously another area you might not be an expert in... 4 months of intense training and the correct diet can lead to huge gains... just FYI Oz has spoken.

$80 doesn't draw in the casual fan who may pay that much or more to watch a game at the landfill. Team starts winning, people jump on board. Exactly. You just wait until GA has things dialed in here ... and they will get dialed in. And we get a series of good wins going ..... The game day crowd will explode and so will the total atmosphere. Till then it is going to be like it is now. (and every game on TV doesn't help ... but it is like this league wide - attendance is down)
