Stanford - pac 12 but need 1 more to get to Omaha ORU - cause the killed of the duckies and love seeing the small school whoop butt on some big schools Can’t root for Oral Robert’s anymore. If they win it all, duckies will say the only lost because ORU was the best.

Can't go furd.....their fans, and team soured me on them during the '22 series. I'll go Southern Miss if they beat Tenn today.

Wake Forest and LSU look hard to beat. I'd like any non SEC team to dogpile and will probably root for Stanford if they get by Texas.

Gotta be the Golden Eagles vs. the Golden Eagles. I'd bet my life savings on the Golden Eagles to win.
(Southern Miss vs. ORU)
All jesting aside, I will be pulling for Southern Miss to make it today and then win it all. Why not? I'm a sucker for a long shot.

Ten teams left. Oregon State's all-time record against each opponent (de facto seeds used set up like the College World Series):
2. Florida 0-1 Florida beat Oregon State 10-2 in the 2010 Gainesville Regional
7. Virginia 2-1 Oregon State won the three-game series with Virginia in the 2007 Charlottesville Regional. Virginia won the opener 7-4 in 13 innings. Oregon State rebounded to win the next two games 5-3 and 7-3 to win the 2007 Charlottesville Regional and advance to the 2007 Corvallis Super Regional.
3. Texas Christian 2-3 Oregon State split in a regular season Texas and Oklahoma trip in 1993, winning 2-0 and losing 5-4. TCU won both games in the 2009 Fort Worth Regional, 13-1 and 5-4. Oregon State eliminated TCU at the 2021 Forth Worth Regional, winning 3-2.
6. Oral Roberts 4-3 Oral Roberts beat Oregon State 5-1 at the 1978 Riverside National Tournament. In 1980, Oral Roberts and Oregon State split two games at Dedeaux. Oral Roberts won the first 6-3, and Oregon State won the second 5-4. Oral Roberts won the fourth game 6-0 in the 1984 Riverside National Tournament. Oregon State won two games at Tulsa in 1997 during a five-game Oklahoma swing. Oregon State beat Oral Roberts 20-5 and 8-2. Oregon State won the final meeting 10-9 in 2002 in Mesa.
1. Wake Forest 0-0
8. Stanford 49-54 The series between Oregon State and Stanford started in 1920 and has continued for 103 years.
9. Texas 1-1 Texas beat Oregon State 10-1 in the losers' bracket of the 1952 College World Series. Oregon State beat Texas 5-4 in the first game of the 2015 Dallas Regional.
4. Southern Miss 0-0
13. Tennessee 3-2 Oregon State split with Tennessee in Knoxville in 2009. Pat Casey stupidly scheduled them to start the season, and I want to say that one game snowed out. Tennessee won 5-4 in the opener, and Oregon State rebounded to win 14-4 in game two. Oregon State won two-of-three against Tennessee in Corvallis in 2010, winning 17-1, losing 2-9, and winning 2-1.
5. Louisiana State 3-6 Louisiana State won both in 2012, 7-1 and 6-5. Louisiana State "won" two-of-three against Oregon State in 2017. Oregon State won the opener 13-1, but LSU rebounded to "win" 3-1 and 6-1. Oregon State swept the two games in Corvallis in 2018, winning 14-1 and 12-0. Louisiana State won beat Oregon State 6-5 and 13-7 in the Baton Rouge Regional.
Most-played baseball rivals (current D1 only):
1. Wazzu 215-234-3 452 2. Washington 253-196-2 451 3. Oregon 195-170 365 4. Portland 176-64 240 5. Gonzaga 73-37 110 6. Stanford 49-54 103
I am pulling for Stanford, because to hell with everyone outside of the Pac-12. A Pac-12 team won the National Championship in 2012, so I want the same to happen in 2023. Also the #8 overall seed played in the National Championship Series, as well.
If not Stanford, I hope that Louisiana State makes Oregon State looks good. Louisiana State embarrassed the "#12 team in the country" Kentucky after eking their way by Oregon State.
On the other side of the bracket, I continue to have a very soft spot in my heart for Virginia, because of the way that they imploded to allow Oregon State to advance to a Corvallis Super Regional and onto Omaha and a National Championship in 2007. On the other hand, the Pac-12 team swept the SEC team in the Championship Series in 2012, so maybe Florida, if Virginia fails us?
So, hopefully Stanford v. Virginia in a National Championship Series with Florida or LSU as a fill-in in case one of the other two falter.

Can’t root for Oral Robert’s anymore. If they win it all, duckies will say the only lost because ORU was the best. We need Oral Roberts to lose by double digits both games. That would be hilarious on several levels since they took out the huskies, okaystate and DBU. I'm pulling for not SEC. A final with no SEC would be beautiful after the selections this year.

I’d like to see Stanford win it all, but I think it’ll be a WF vs. FL final, with the #1 overall seed gettin’ the hardware.
I’d also like to see LSU + Tenn play a 25 inning contest.

Wake would be the first team in 24 years to win as a #1 overall seed. Wake is the 14th #1 overall seed in the past 24 years to make it to Omaha. The previous 13 results: 2001 CS Fullerton Lost 5-2 to Stanford in the winners' bracket in 10 innings and lost 4-1 to Stanford in the rematch.
2004 Texas Lost 6-4 and 3-2 to Fullerton in National Championship Series.
2005 Tulane Beat Oregon State 3-1, lost to Texas 5-0, and blew a 7-0 lead to Baylor to lose 8-7.
2006 Clemson Lost to North Carolina 2-0 in the winners' bracket and Fullerton 7-6 in the next game.
2008 Miami (Florida) Lost to Georgia 7-4 in the opener and Stanford 8-3 in the losers' bracket.
2009 Texas Lost 7-6 in 11 innings and 11-4 to LSU in the Championship Series.
2010 Arizona State Lost to Clemson 6-3 in the opener and South Carolina 11-4 in the next game.
2011 Virginia Lost to South Carolina 7-1 in the winners' bracket and South Carolina 3-2 in 13 innings in the rematch.
2012 Florida Lost to South Carolina 7-3 in the opener and Kent State 5-4 in the next game.
2013 North Carolina Lost to NC State 8-1 in the opener and UCLA 4-1 in the Semifinal.
2016 Florida Lost to Coastal Carolina 2-1 in the opener and Texas Tech 3-2 in the next game.
2017 Oregon State Lost to LSU 3-1 and 6-1 in the Semifinal. 2018 Florida Lost to Texas Tech 6-3 in the opener and Arkansas 5-2 in the Semifinal.

Sucks that the Beavs have outscored LSU 59-43 in those 9 games yet has only won 3 of them. Really needed to save our runs for games where LSU scored more than 1 run.
