2013 Corvallis Super Regional:
Kansas 6 - Oregon State 2
Both pitchers only faced one hitter more than the minimum through three innings. Oregon State broke through first with an Andy Peterson base hit up the middle and Michael Conforto homer in the fourth. Boyd pitched great into the sixth. In the sixth, Boyd put runners on the corners with no outs. He induced two infield flies and looked like he might get out of it, but he plunked the next two batters to bring in a run. Boyd then got the final batter to ground out to third to end the threat. Boyd pitched a perfect seventh before finally giving way to Scott Schultz in the eighth.
Schultz, Max Engelbrekt, and Jace Fry combined to get three outs in the ninth. Kansas State loaded the bases with one out. Engelbrekt struck out one batter, and Fry came on to induce a ground ball to second to end the threat, still 2-1 Oregon State. Fry blew the save by giving up a two-out double and base hit for a tie game.
In the tenth, Fry gave up a double to Kansas State's best hitter, Jared King and the hitter two batters later brought King home. 3-2 Kansas State. Dan Child relieved Fry and gave up a single, error, intentional walk, and single without logging an out to make it 4-2. Taylor Starr came on and logged an out but gave up a base hit to make it 6-2.
