I thinking this team better shoot the lights out! Anyone else see this roster as lacking interior depth, talent? Timea & Reagan... but, any foul trouble or even minor injury this team is left with 6'5", 6'7" backups with no history of major contributions. Small ball is just not going to cut it in the Pac12. Having a total of (4) players 6'3"+, listed as F or C is scary for an 11th place team trying to climb the ladder.

Three Frosh & 5 Sophomores - - Lots of young talent...
A great deal of OSU's WBB basketball future rides on how much these 8 players improve their game in the next 22 months... There's some impressive talent in that bunch, but, as of now, only one who looks "Elite."
If one or two more get there, whoever they may be, we're in for some great basketball.
And, by the way, who may they be? The ones who have the chance to become Elite....The ones who could turn the Beavs into a top 3 or top 4 PAC team? Any thoughts? My untrained eye sees only one....maybe two. GO BEAVS!!

What is the opposite of orange-colored glasses? Orange-filtering glasses?

Not a senior in the bunch; nobody for Ron to sing to this year.

Not a senior in the bunch; nobody for Ron to sing to this year. Well, we aren't the international team to rival WSU, but 4 other countries for us, is that a record? WSU is at 8 this year if I can count, 8 countries, 9 players from out of country. So Ron has something to look forward to, Colombia, Germany and the Czech national anthem.

Probably could use another player in the 6-3-6-4 range but doubt that's going to happen. It really does look like Rueck is going to change things up to an extent whether that was the plan or out of necessity. I actually like the roster overall. I'm interested to see Gardiner after a full offseason and I am all-in on Blacklock. I think she has a great chance to be a star for the Beavers. TVO should be healthy and I we've already seen what Beers can do. There's obviously question marks but I don't see why they can't do well enough to get back into the NCAA tourney. Too much talent to expect less.

Chances are this team will be an NCAA tournament team, but not good enough to challenge for the Pac12 title. As far as stars go, certainly Talia and Raegan have good chances at making all Pac12. Timea's stats were exactly where I thought they would be last season, which was pretty good considering she hopped right into Pac12 play and didn't get to plan non-conference opponents. I don't know how good she will be, but my hope would be that she could be a Cate Reese type player, averaging 10-14ppg and 5ish rebounds. None of us should expect Adlee to shoot over .500 from 3 like she did the closing stretch last year, but if she can shoot close to .400, and Talia returns to form, the Beavs could have a strong inside/outside game.
A couple guesses for me: Most improved player: AJ......maybe Lily Best newcomer: Donovyn Biggest surprise: Kelsey Reese PG play: Most fans will be happy with solid, not necessarily spectacular, play from Martha and one of the freshman.

IMO, we have solid depth at the five, but I'm not sure it is good enough to the point where Raegan will be able consistently play both the four and five as she did last season at times. That leaves us pretty thin at the four. Rees should be good for 12-15 minutes off the bench (maybe slightly more). I assume Heide, if healthy, will be used sparingly. A healthy, better conditioned Timea should be able to log more minutes than she did last season. Interested to see who else logs minutes at the four aside from Raegan and Timea.
I'm excited to see the off-season improvements made my the returners. I think Hunter has a chance to be an impact player early with her ball skills and athleticism.
Also, looks like we'll only have room to sign two for the 2024 class assuming everyone returns for the 2024-25 season.

My hope is that Paurova will help at the 4. She seems to have the build and predilection toward being a rebounder, which is important for the 4 in SR's system.

Probably the same as when Ruth got into foul trouble back in the day, the Beav's will probably lose. There are four teams in college women's basketball who can afford to lose one of their top three players and still be a top notch team. OSU is not one of those four teams. But if Beers et al are not hurt and can play full games then your insistence that the Beav's will stay an 11th place team is just silly.

We can only go with what the roster says we have. That means the Beavs have one of the best post players in the Pac12. Chances are Rees will get the bulk of the minutes as a backup at 4/5. She has a lot of Pac12 experience including 17 starts. As much as we may fear the talent drop off from Raegan to whoever the backup is, there aren't a lot of Pac12 teams that will have a backup at post who will hurt their opponent that much.
Saying that though, if the Beavs have injuries in the front court, it will make wins tough to come by, and the Beavs will play a lot of small ball.

I can see times that we will see 4 guards on the court especially if they are able to shoot consistently.

Personally, I'm just glad that every player who signed with Oregon State out of high school, and who had not been with the program for 4 years at the end of last season, will still be on this year's roster. Obviously, last season was not what any of them anticipated, especially the 2 McDonald's All Americans - not by a long shot. When so many of their peers at other campuses (and, in the recent past, at OSU) skip town at the first opportunity in search of something most will never find, it's very heartening to see these women display the maturity and loyalty that they have.
I think we're gonna be pretty good - not great, but pretty good. And, no matter what, I'm going to find it very easy to root for these ladies.
