Personally, I just don't see him sliding past the Fifth Round, unless he digs his heals in on money. He could go higher. If he goes lower, it probably inures to Oregon State's benefit, so I will cheer on Forrester not getting drafted at all.

Where would Forrester project at…position?? Hmmm… Sites may vary, but I've seen GF in the 155-175 range. Most list him as the 8-12 best 1B, even behind 2-3 HS kids. That'll be there, or better, next year.

Where would Forrester project at…position?? Hmmm… I would guess third. Unless he starts hitting a lot more home runs, a Moneyball-style team would have to fall in love with his OBP and defensive play at first for him to play at first.

Where would Forrester project at…position?? Hmmm… I think that is one of Garrett’s biggest problems. Where does he play. 1st and 3rd are premium power positions in MLB, he doesn’t project as a 30 homer guy. To me his best path is as a catcher, he has shown the hands, his arm would work. Caleb Hamilton part 2

Forrester has been a very good player for three years now, both offensively & defensively.(Extremely consistent)
The selfish fan in me wants him back in what could be a "masher" lineup, the realist in me says he's playing pro ball next year.
Either way.........."Thanks Garret."

Waving 100K or even 50K a some of these kids to pursue their dream would be an easy choice. Can't see Donkey coming back if they offer him any amount of money.

Sometimes kids value the experience more than money. Matthew Boyd came back, Ben Wetzler came back. Will Garret? Probably not, you never know.

Projections I've seen have Garrett going mid fourth to mid 5th round.
Teams looking at him as a 3B might jump earlier than teams projecting him at 1B - his height is a concern with the scouts. I'm told they like his work at bat - great discipline, high level of contact and ability to use the entire field. His glove and arm are fine and although he won't get a 60 for speed, he runs well enough to not clog up the bases. His makeup is great.
A little more speed, a little more power, and 3" taller and . . . .

Unless he starts hitting a lot more home runs, a Moneyball-style team would have to fall in love with his OBP and defensive play at first for him to play at first. Yeah, Garrett will have to stick at third and play pretty good defense there. We didn't really get to see him at thrid much, so who knows how his defense would hold up there over a 162 game season. I think he has the hit and eye tools to be a major league batter, probably one that doesn't hit more than 20 home runs in a season. Kind of like a Ty France for the mariners, good batting average, good to great on base ability, never going to wow you with homers, but hits the ball hard and collects plenty of doubles. He is sticking at first base, but only because the Mariners are a terrible baseball team with such poor management that they can't find a first baseman in their organization with anything better The teams he came up with had him at 2nd and 3rd base until he got to the Ms. Anyway, whatever happens, it has been a joy to watch Garrett and I will root for him no matter what... But it sure would be nice to root for him one more year as a Beav
