. . Likely, probably, 4 or 5 of the best hitters, that better?? Reality sucks sometimes, there's your clue!! Turley will hopefully be back, (just k'd again), and coupke others. Need a catcher with a bat, we dont have one.? Right now, can't get a base hit, completely out of gas. Have a smooth flight home guys and flush this fiasco. Go fishing. Huh?!? There are only four Junior position players on the team: Garret Forrester -- Garret most likely gets drafted in the first 6 rounds, last projection I saw had him 162. So yes Forrester is likely gone. Although who knows, if he slips to the 10th or later, it isn't beyond the realm of possibility that he comes back for his Senior year to wreck havoc on the league and find some revenge and retribution Brady Kasper -- Kasper has grown leaps and bounds this season. It is not beyond the realm of possibility that he is drafted and lured away, but he was not great his first two years and a senior season as good as this one would boost his stock and bonus a lot I think. I would be a little surprised to see him leave. Micah McDowell -- Same as Kasper, but even more of an outlier of a junior season. Again a MLB team may see projection and tools and call his name anyway and give him a nice bonus, but again I would be surprised. Kyle Dernedde -- Dernedde will get drafted.... NEXT year, and probably higher than many expect as a way to save draft pool bonus money to pay for a high schooler to skip college and have a slick fielding SS to fill out their minor league rosters. So at most we lose three productive hitters, but in reality probably just one. As for pitchers Sellers and Ferrer are gone (Seniors) no Juniors were featured heavily or will be drafted high. Ryan Brown is a draft eligible sophomore so we may be replacing our closer next year. Pitching is where Canham and crew will need to hit the recruiting trail especially hard.

Overall, pretty solid year, considering it was sort of a transition/rebuild year. Four costly injuries definitely didn't help. The new guys we've got coming in should be helpful. Go Beavs. From an outsider one of the characteristics of the team as the season went along was improvement over the start of the year. At one point in the early season, some folks were questioning much about the team and coaches. But a 2nd place regular season finish in the Pac12 demonstrates that coaches and players at OSU worked to play better. I admire Coach MC for how the team grew. YOUNG players don't always deliver consistency, but you could see the effort and talent in many games during the regular season. No doubt OSU will be a top tier Pac12 team in 2024. Thanks for the outsider's perspective. Seems like Oregon has a very good shot at getting over the hump and making it to Omaha this year. I have a lot of friends who are U of O fans who have little to no interest in college baseball. As a Beaver fan, I'm very interested in college baseball and it bums me out that none of them want to talk about it throughout the season (many are talking about it currently of course). I will not be rooting for them because well, I'm a Beaver fan. That being said, I hope that if they do make it, it will spark more interest in college baseball in the state of Oregon. Just don't win a championship, ok?

It must suck when these 18 to 22 year olds get done with whatever sport they are involved in and their first real job they take a pay cut.

Kasper maybe? Bazzana, Guerra, Turley, Kane should be coming back, right? Also the talented freshman class from this year, I'd assume at least one of those guys improves. I'm seeing things differently from some other people I guess. This to me seems like a young team with a lot of good players coming back and a lot of potential next year. Bazanna, Guerra maybe are old enough I believe and other than Turley who in the freshman class? I don't follow like some but I'm at a loss as to other freshmen that have had any impact. I hope there are some cause we've shown some serious holes in the lineup. Both Bazzana and Guerra are sophomores and neither will be 21 by the draft (so not draft eligible sophomores). They will definitely be back next year. Unless you think they will be transfering out, which would be a terrible idea for them (IMHO) and crushing to us fans.

Hutchenson better improve a lot. His ball doesn't have very little if at all up and down movement. His ball hangs a lot and it showed in the pac 12 tourney and this weekend. He got hammered pretty good Pretty hard on a true freshman. was just meant to be an observation. Didn't mean for it to sound like he was useless. He did pitch good early in the season. Just didn't keep it up late in the season. I think he will be okay. I guess I shouldn't have said he needed to improve a lot. He needs to get back to where he was earlier in the season. Point taken.

add Forrester to the return list. If his asking price is what I heard it was, he would have to be drafted middle 4th round. Do not see that, not much upside. Garret Forrester Chose Oregon State because “it’s been my dream school since I was nine, and family and friends have gone to school there.” Maybe this is a guy who wants another year at his dream school, especially considering the talent coming back and an opportunity to compete for a conference championship and run to Omaha. Hopefully he makes that decision and helps persuade others to do the same. Lets donate to the NIL fund and get him some compensation to turn down whatever draft bonus he will get!!

I expect Grieg to start at 1b next year. Best arm on the team according to Darwin. Why does 1b need a strong arm? Not that I think you're wrong about where he might play. We've seen him take a stab at 1b this year. He pitches too. That is where the arm strength comes into play as a part time pitcher too.

Say LSU want's a new 2b guy. Waving money around they will find one. What does Bazz do if someone says, 10K a month to play here. These guys already have agents or advisers.

I don't think Trosky had the Arm to play SS everyday. Of course that could have changed in 2 years.

I don't what LSU is saying about Bazz. (probably he needs to lay off the caffeine and quit swinging at junk.) However, LSU fans are joking around about the NIL and wanting Mr. Turley. Many of them were impressed by his wicked bat.

If a guy wants to leave and has the talent we won't be able to compete. It's really no different than it ever was, now it's just legal.
