I heard that Greg Street hates little kids and dogs. Wrong. He loves street dogs…hates domesticated ones. Also, looks like he loves hot dogs. Damn! I think you’re right! At least about the hot dogs.

10", my a$$ . . . he called a third on Gretler that was in the middle of the opposite batters box. I looked at that 3 or 4 times in total misbelief.
Incredible!

And, for the record, if he had been so terrible he would no longer be doing NCAA tourney games.
Now rationalize CB Bucknor, and Angel Hernandez. But wait until I get some popcorn, this should be great. You can't be serious...Street was calling strikes that were TEN INCHES off the plate. He has NO BUSINESS umping another LSU-OSU game. You're way off base here, but go enjoy your popcorn... ____________________________ PS -- a postgame Miss St. fan's comment on Street's umping the OSU-LSU game: "Embarrassing to say he's an SEC ump by calling a fastball 10 inches off the plate...a strike. A fastball. Terrible terrible terrible" I believe you badly misunderstood this post. Sorry if I wasn't more concise.

"Victim mentality"? That's laughable, Dude.
Baseball has standards. Coaches, players and fans are held to certain standards. Umpires are not excepted. This was never an issue over a few missed calls at the plate, that can happen. This was about a blatant game long disregard for a reasonable strike zone. When an umpire or official can tip the competitive balance of any athletic contest, the offended individual or team doesn't suffer from a victim mentality, they suffer from incompetence and a lack of standards.

Yeah a beaver team that made it to omaha with 4 losses total. You could say there entire offensive identity revolved around burning out the opposing pitchers arms with extremely skilled plate discipline. Now 6 or 7 of those beavers are playing MLB baseball. That was the best baseball team in the history of the ncaa and they lost that title due to greg streets terrible calls. Is not swinging at obvious balls with 2 strikes being unable to adapt to win ? Let's not forget he probably got in zero trouble for it because espn was also constantly on osu's case for allowing luke hemlich(sp?) To pitch and play at osu. He had to goto multiple countries to continue his baseball career even though he may have been the best picher I've seen at osu in over a decade.

I would've been pissed if Larnach swung at that crap. Absolutely ridiculous.

You have a lot of non-related issues in your angry diatribe. What does LH, ESPN, have to do with the GS calls? You do realize OSU lost two games in a row, scoring a total of 2 runs on 5 total hits? Did ESPN, GS cause all that? PS... you have a very very limited college baseball viewing experience or history to think that team was "the best in NCAA history".

And maybe they still are. Maybe with the right formulas, in the right context, with the right analysis, the 2017 Oregon State Beavers will still stand favorably among the elites. Their 56-6 record is a program-best. Their .903 winning percentage is the fourth-best in NCAA history, just shy of Arizona State’s .914 mark in 1972—when the college game had far less parity. They led the country in team ERA at 1.93—almost a full run better than the next-closest team. They went a record-breaking 27-3 in Pacific-12 Conference games. They put together two 23-game winning streaks, carrying the latter into the College World Series."--Baseball America. I am upset about the lack of appeal in the second LSU game. That really stung.

I could care less about 2017 after the 2018 National Championship. The 2018 squad had a lot more power and could win games in multiple ways.(See the bullpen at the CWS) Rutschman was a .400 hitter and Larnach a 19 homer guy in 2018, we basically lost Harrison & Thompson as contributors off the 2017 squad. I would put a healthy 2018 squad against any Beaver team we've ever fielded. Hell, Kwan was basically hurt in the CWS and a "big time arm" in Grant Gambrell was shutdown before the tournament even started. Yet we still won it the hard way, coming out of the losers bracket after game one against North Carolina.

I know that you are responding to another post and so may be a bit melodramatic, but dammit, that 2017 squad was the best team I have ever seen. They simply refused to lose. The ways that they won games were many and the talent played so well together. What's more, I think very few people were expecting them to dominate like they did. (I could be wrong about that, but I was shocked.) 2017 was flat out robbed. And it was heartache worse than when your first girlfriend dumped you. 2018 came along and we were expected to do well. We did well, but we were not as dominating in all aspects of the game. We even came a muffed foul fly ball from losing the CWS in 2 games! It was a fantastic team and providence or luck was on its side, but the magic of 2017 still burns bright.

irimi,
I can't disagree where you or any other Beaver fan are coming from on 2017.
I just feel differently....... can't help it.
