Trent Caraway, the 3B from J.Serra HS in San Juan Capistrano, CA. is projected to be the 80th selection in the July MLB Draft (3rd Round). Here is a report from back in February.
Caraway is a strong and filled-out, offensive-oriented infielder who showed plenty of loud impact during the 2022 showcase circuit. Listed at 6-foot-1, 204 pounds, Caraway is a righthanded hitter who has some moving parts in his swing, but consistently showed impressive raw power and the ability to tap into that power in games. He sets up with an even stance, though he has plenty of pre-pitch bat waggle with his hands and a big leg kick that transitioned into more of a toe tap in the fall. Those moving parts and an approach that gets a bit aggressive at times means Caraway is probably more of a power-over-hit offensive profile in the future, though his overall track record as an amateur hitter is exceptional. Caraway is an average runner who has solid arm strength and good carry on his throws, but his actions, footwork and exchange make him more likely to fit at third base or in an outfield corner than the middle infield. He might be too big for the middle infield currently, and as he develops physically that will only be more true—though he should have the power to profile in a corner. Caraway is old for the class and would be a draft-eligible sophomore in 2025 if he makes it to campus at Oregon State, though he has some draft attention among the top few rounds.
From reports, "signability" could be an issue with Caraway. If he slides beyond the 3rd round, it could be about not meeting his $$$ expectations.

Interesting that we might just 2 years with him too if he comes...but on other hand, having 2 options to go pro from OSU might increase his probability of coming
