Has any team, especially a 4 seed, set up their pitching to come out of the losers bracket. Pitch a 4th or 5th starter, and let him go long and bring in the bottom guys from the bullpen. If they lose 20-5, so be it. Then setup their 2nd game with their #2 starter, and if they win pitch their number 1 in game 3. Basically saying we hope to get the number 1 seeds 3rd or 4th best starters instead of their 1 or 2. As far as LSU's ace, I'm not sure you want to hold back the ace to play on Saturday. If you win the regional, he might not be able to go on Friday in the Super. I think this is a good draw for this team, this young team needs to learn what it takes to win at the highest level. If they can shock LSU, what kind of confidence will it mean next year when we have a legit shot at Omaha. Pitching should be better in cajun country rather than the dry desert air. Pitchers will probably have much better bite on their ball with the higher humidity. Hopefully our batting stays hot down there. Skenes will be pitching on Saturday. He has gone on 5 days between starts a couple times this year and it hasn’t affected him at all.

Bodhisattva - I think you are on to something...I'm not sure if we throw Ferrer or Sellers first game...but if we win, and we play LSU vs Skenes in game 2, I would argue we start someone like Thortenstein or Keljo, etc. If they have game of the year, awesome, we win, if not, we don't put ourselves in a hole in a game where we needed an amazing performance anyway...and then have guys to go rest of tourney

Right or wrong I can’t get behind playing to possibly lose your first game. Btw, Herm Edwards agrees with me.

Anyone following the beavs know this year is not really a traditional championship team. Huge amount of talent but most of it is young. We don't lose many pieces going into next season and expectations are probably going to be through the roof. A tough draw against a top SEC team should give them some flavor in their tea. If they win out and get hot as hell awesome!
