Sports Illustrated is reporting that the "Swaim Show" is reporting that Colorado and Arizona are leaving the Pac 12 for the Big 12 as soon as an official television offer is presented to the Pac 12.

I saw somewhere a few weeks ago that the President's had pre-approved 3 schools for talks if it was deemed the Pac needed more schools - SDSU and SMU .... and CSU.
I'm pretty sure this was reported after the Colorado rumors began. We'll have a Pac 12 unless it completely falls apart fast, I personally think 14-16 ar much better numbers for the league to survive.

The teams have to make financial sense to maintain or improve the PAC’s payout and revenue stream. Unfortunately, OSU and Washington State probably don’t even help with that standard. We need teams that will add to the PAC-12’s advertising value not dilute it. If Colorado leaves, Colorado State makes sense but George K cannot just add Universities that don’t bring value.

Colorado St is a nice school and has a great, new stadium, but they’re a doormat in football currently. Is that really a good move?

I think the Big 12 made a mistake inviting UCF and Cincy. They both caught lightning in a bottle but are otherwise pedestrian. They should uninvite them and merge with the current Pac10. That would have been a much better answer for both conferences than the mess we’re both in now.

Colorado Football is a dumpster fire and who knows if Coach Prime can put it out. So it really becomes a wash. After all, it’s not about wins & loses, it’s about television market share and advertising revenue. Keeping the University of Colorado would be preferable but I think the PAC-12 would benefit picking up CSU if need be.

On CSU, I think it's a matter of how you look at things. It's an R1 University of comparable student population to at least a couple current Pac 12 schools... higher than uo, a bit lower than OSU.
CSU has had a rough go of it in football the last 5 years or so, but if a 5 year stretch is how you judge football programs, OSU should have been kicked out a few years back.... Since 2013 OSU has been to 3 bowl games, CSU to 5.
I don't consider it to be a nilly willy addition. There are other schools that could be good additions as well. It could be a decent addition if Colorado bolts, might even make a decent addition if Colorado were to stay.

WSU doesn't work but CSU does? Denver folk barely follow CU...CSU is a complete afterthought. They don't move the needle whatsoever in terms of TV viewership. At least CU has a history
