It's tough to believe anybody commenting on the situation. "Those who know aren't talking and those who talk don't know." I have, however, noticed that several Pac officials, especially UA and CU, have left room to believe that they will jump if the money isn't right.
Is it? How is it that the Pac doesn't yet have a fairly good idea with whom the deal will be and for how much?

Canzano, who is on top of this better than anyone, has quoted numerous sources saying the money will be better than the Big 12's. It's in yesterday's story about Mullens, again. The Big 12’s new media rights contract will distribute $31.6 million annually, per school, by comparison. Multiple Pac-12 sources have told me in recent months that the conference is confident it will either be within range or exceed that figure.
Late last week I contacted a member of the Pac-12 CEO Group and asked: “Still feeling confidence about beating $31.6 million per year?”
The source replied: “We are.”

www.johncanzano.com/p/canzano-oregon-athletic-directorThere's a guy on one of the Facebook groups that linked a tweet from somebody supposedly more in the know talking about Apple not making a certain announcement about a Pac 12 deal until their developers conference on the 5th.... Could be just as accurate as the last hundreds or thousands of rumors that have been forwarded the last few months on youtube and other sources. Bottom line, even if more teams leave they're locked in through this season and likely the next... it'd behoove them to wait to see what negotiations bring rather that jump at a deal they don't have anything to compare to.
