Is there an update on Drew Rasmussen’s condition?
After baffling the N.Y. Yankees for 7 innings with a 2 hits and fanning Aaron Judge 3 times, Rasmussen noticed a sudden loss of velocity and a feeling of nerve sensitivity in his elbow. No pain, just an odd sensation in his elbow. His MRI the following day looked good and team Orthopedist, Dr. Koko Easton found no further damage to his UCL on the scan. A consult with specialist , Dr. Keith Meister was scheduled for the following week and surgery was not recommended but a 60 day stint on the DL was initiated. The diagnosis was a “Flexor strain”. He is scheduled to return in August.
No further word from Razz, the Orthopedists or the Devil Rays?
It looks like he's just simply shut down for 8 weeks

I've seen no update on DR, but from what I've seen with "flexor strains" is quite often they end up needing TJ surgery eventually especially if the pitcher tries to comeback too soon after the initial strain. So I think this 2 month shut down is a smart move.
