Great job in the portal OSU WBB Coaches! Outside of having Aleah playing PG, we have the next best thing...Aleah coaching our guards! Time to renew season tickets. As long as the team stays healthy, OSU WBB can be special this upcoming season. I remember what coach Jonas told me at the kick off-dinner last year..."the freshmen class reminded him of Syd Wiese's class when they were freshmen". Lots to look forward to in the 23/24 season.

Her favorite moment as a Ute was "Beating Oregon State on the road". We will have to switch that around in the coming season!

I have never seen so much excitement over the hiring of a first year assistant coach as Aleah. And I'm one of those excited fans. |

I looked at Kelsey's stats last week. Her and Jelena had a lot of similarities stat wise. Shooting percentage, etc were similar. Jelena scored a bit more and seems to be a better rebounder and passer. Kelsey's playing time went down thanks to the addition of Pili while Jelena's went up last season. Landing Kelsey doesn't appear to be a homerun by any means, but it does look like there is potential there to backup both the 4 and 5 spot while seeing some growth in her game as she gets coaching from Deven and Scott. It's a solid pickup that could surprise us.
As for the Aleah hiring. I think there is every reason to have high hopes for what Aleah brings to the Beavs. First, she should be very good with the young guards the Beavs have in the program this fall. That could be huge for this upcoming season. Secondly, Aleah will likely end up as a above average recruiter. In my opinion, above average will be an understatement.

I’m excited about the Rees. I think it’s a clear signal that Rueck hasn’t changed any of his philosophies, as he’s happy to have an offense that can utilize slower bigs. I don’t think it’s a recipe for beating LSU, but we can at least get back to being a postseason team.
