When watching a TV show or movie that has an aircraft in it, check the 'N' number on the craft then check it on registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/Search/NNumberInquiryMost times it registers legit as to what the aircraft is (lots of times registered in So Cal...go figure) License plates on cars however are normally bogus on TV shows/movies... Like I said...it's a weird thing to do... Wyoming license plates begin with the county number (1 Natrona County, 2 Laramie County, etc.), ranked by population. There are 23 counties in Wyoming. All the plates on "Longmire" began with 24. This is a Teton County plate (Jackson). South Dakota's are the same; 1 is Minnehaha County (Sioux Falls), 2 is Pennington County (Rapid City), etc.

Although, I believe it was the population count in the early part of the 20th century

I’ve got some old Montana plates, 57 or 58, stamped with “Prison Made.” They’re pretty cool.
