A good tournament to be a part of. Even 0-2 probably helps NET/RPI next season. Would rather play 6-8 of these type of opponent than a bunch of UAPB's and PSU's (granted we lost twice to PSU last year). Even if it's losses, would rather lose to P5 opponents than mid-majors any day of the week.

That Elite Eight appearance really seems to have opened some doors for Oregon State, which were closed before.

The final four match-up that almost happened in 2021. Definitely will be a test, probably the toughest draw at least on paper. |

An article in SI about how conference realignment may affect college basketball. They had one line on Oregon State. "Belt-tightening due to reduced TV revenue could buy Wayne Tinkle some time at Oregon State" I had not thought about it, but it makes sense.

The bad news is a good coach in Mountain West makes million a year. Tinkle is not a good coach with 3 years left at 3 million a year. We are in big trouble. I don't see him giving up his salary.

The bad news is a good coach in Mountain West makes million a year. Tinkle is not a good coach with 3 years left at 3 million a year. We are in big trouble. I don't see him giving up his salary. Well he gave up all the bonuses he received for the elite 8 run and took a pay cut that year on top of that. |
