Contribute loss to 1. Poor pitching and 2. Bazzana. Travis came up twice with bases loaded and less than two outs and hit into a DP and a FC and #3 McDowell who also hit into a bases loaded DP. As bad as our pitching was it still comes down to those DPs by our key players. McDowell also got picked off. So, three examples of bases loaded and less than two outs. What happened to small ball? Why blame the hitters for trying to get the ball out of the infield when they aren't given a different option. Worst case on a safety squeeze, you get one out. Better case, you score a run and they get one out. Best case, we score a run and the batter is safe at first. I don't get some of these coaching decisions. The time for experimentation is over, it's time to play for the wins. MB.

They don't get to make excuses due to "options". It's pretty simple... do the job. Get a pitch to drive or fly to the OF.

Safety squeezing with the bases loaded is usually an easy force at home.

McDowell scorched his 6U, 6-3 DP, but the shortstop was shifted into perfect position. They both had great at-bats, with tough outcomes. Baseball is a hard game. All you can do is hit the ball as hard as possible. Sometimes the other guy makes a nice play, as we saw on Saturday when Utah pulled about 4-5 defensive plays out of their butts. And I sure as shi$ don't want Bazzana or McDowell bunting with the bases loaded in those situations. Ever.

Some days the pitchers are gold; and some days the opposing hitters are hot. I want Bazzana to swing away in those situations, just as I would want Forrester or McDowell or Guerra. They are the heart of the team. And if they go down, well, they go down. But most of the time, they will get the hit to score the runs. And I'd rather have the opposing pitcher have to get them out honestly than giving the pitcher the advantage of knowing that they are going to bunt.
