Just my opinion but this game was on the Coaches. Sellers was serving up Gopher balls and Larson looked like good Batting Practice. For some reason they overlooked Utah and we see the results. I would guess Hosting is over but still a good chance for invite. This teams needs the experience. But our Starting Pitching has to get a hell'va lot better.

Well to be fair to rafer, this loss will damage the RPI to where the numbers don’t look like we really can expect to host. Make the tourney w a 2 seed and have a shot to do damage, yes. But we won’t be hosting

For what is worth I thought Utah hitters went up the plate, calm, confident to make contact. They used the Hit and Run really well and hit the ball into holes of opportunity. I would expect they will do the same in next two games. Their Closer might be best we have seen all year. Throwing hard and keeping the ball down. The other guys were pretty much Ho Hum.
There really isn't too much to say about our Pitching. Walking people and hanging the Ball over plate is like putting up your Please Kick Our Ass Sign.

I believe that Micah Ashman is something like 11th in the country in saves, first in the Pac-12. He is a a 6'7" lefty, supposedly the best lefty in Utah his Senior year. Of pitchers in the Pac-12 with 35+ strikeouts, he has the lowest ERA. Ashman has two losses on the year. One was after an unearned run in the bottom of the 12th at Jackie Robinson. The other was after a triple in the eighth against Utah Valley. Utah is a perfect 12-0, when Ashman enters the game with the lead.

Rafer…… you’ve been a member of this forum AND a member of Lucky’s forum for decades, and I honestly can’t remember a POSITIVE post coming from you. Honestly. C’mon, man! Try it.

Damn, that was the second game that we've ever lost to Utah in Goss and you think we'll drop the next two? I'd take that bet big time. Hosting is hosting. It's not the end of the world or the road if we don't host a tournament. We've shown we can win elsewhere. But if you'd like to sit out the rest of the season and wait on football, then go right ahead. It must suck to feel so much despair just because of one game.

Mason is going to be MONSTER next year. it’s funny, it looks like Mason has actually cut down on his swing during his hot streak. More interested in staying balanced and through the ball. He obviously has enough power and it makes him a much better hitter

Well then you aren't seeing it all. If I am overstating the tentative position we're currently in, inform me please. BTW, I don't think I have said anything that wasn't of concern by MANY posters on here as well. I am an admitted competitive sob, always have been, played every sport and was ok in all of them, not great, but better than many. I never had the attitude that sugar coating mistakes and bad performances was a winning combination, I was probably harder on my mistakes than others, some may disagree. BTW, my favorite sport may be WBB, they are a fun group to root for, and J Smith has the FB team rolling and I look forward to a great year from them, but as always, you never know!! The BB team is struggling to get consistency, and I know they may be younger than most, but these kids have played more baseball in their young lives than my generation played in our lifetime, they shouldn't be making some of these mistakes IMO. I'm assuming MC might agree with me. I know, it's baseball..

Contribute loss to 1. Poor pitching and 2. Bazzana. Travis came up twice with bases loaded and less than two outs and hit into a DP and a FC and #3 McDowell who also hit into a bases loaded DP. As bad as our pitching was it still comes down to those DPs by our key players. McDowell also got picked off.
