Nobody fell off the scaffold. More and more temporary scaffolds were being put up and one windy day, one of them blew over. Fortunately no one was on it but that’s when the OSU Safety dept stepped in and said no more. I know two of the guys that fell off. So, yes, it happened. But, yes, Casey also didn’t want other scaffolding set up there and that was happening more and more.

Some posts I've read recently imply the current coaches may be allowing a little more than PC ever did. This spiked ball at games end suggests otherwise and that all's fair in love and civil war, whether now or under PC. Love the wave at the 56 second mark

Some posts I've read recently imply the current coaches may be allowing a little more than PC ever did. This spiked ball at games end suggests otherwise and that all's fair in love and civil war, whether now or under PC. There is more yapping by our current team than past teams. I’ve been going to games for 30+ years and this is the most I’ve seen. I don’t mind the emotion, but I would prefer it was directed at our bench and not the opponent. I also cringe with some of the yapping from our fan base. There is too much directed at opposing players. We have some fans that prefer to drop F bombs at opposing players rather than cheer on their team. We also have a bunch of loudmouths that need to bone up on their baseball knowledge, because some of the crap they yell is nonsense. It’s embarrassing at times. Reminds me of uck football fans. Also, it reminds me of the a-hole that sits behind me at basketball games and calls the official “blue”. Evidently, he can’t remember what sport he is attending. Don’t get me wrong, our baseball team is not last year’s Tennessee a-holes, but I hope Mitch is keeping an eye on it. And, we definitely need to upgrade the security at Goss. You may be right or have valid points however there is a lot of subjectivity involved, not to mention your (anyone's) perceptions can change quite dramatically over a 30 year period. What a 60 year old finds cringe worthy is quite different than the 30 year old version of himself. 30+ years ago, different stadium, capacity, and attendance level. Also the stakes and opponents were quite different. My original post had nothing to do with fan behavior or any real/perceived difference in the teams behavior overall. I was only commenting on Civil War competition and reaction by our current team to that of a team from 10 years ago. Looks to me it's very similar. One thing I have not seen mentioned in this thread is, the number of Beaver fans who travel to opposing stadiums and sometimes in equal or greater numbers than the home town fans who show up. Teams/coaches probably don't like that and remember it the next year when they come to Goss and probably do bring a little attitude with them. Does that excuse a reaction, if there is one, from the Beavs bench in response. IMO, to a degree you always want to match and surpass the competitions intensity, but not to the point it becomes a distraction to carrying out your job. Where the line is becomes a matter of personal opinion and subjectivity and one there will be endless disagreement about. In other words, it's a perfect topic for a message board while waiting for the next game.

Success brings a-holes along for the ride.....add in alcohol, it's a recipe for all kinds of shenanigans.
See LSU fans at Omaha......imagine the amount of assholes at Box Stadium.

But, you have to admit that there has been a definite decline in fan decorum over the past several years. There's a reason why there is a huge shortage of officials in all sports all the way down to youth sports. Nobody wants to sign up to get hassled all game by idiot parents or threatened in the parking lot after the game.

I've heard that alcohol can make a person less restrained kind of like comments made on a message board by anonymous posters.

I mostly sit in the outfield bleachers, and the heckling from there is VERY tame. Mostly false encouragements, or pronouncing a guys name wrong. If anyone ever veers into personal territory (like looking up a guys girlfriends name or moms name on social media, which I have only seen once) the security staff is quickly there to quash it. One warning to keep it civil and about baseball, nothing personal, and then you are out of the stadium. My favorite heckle, and one the opposing players seem to enjoy also is, "Hey, centerfielder, left hand legs, right hand boobs, both hands butt". It OFTEN gets a response and a chuckle from the player... My studious note taking shows almost every play raised both hands Yes, yes I know probably sexist and a bit crude, but what can I say I have a low sense of humor And NO *I* am never the one to yell it, a college student usually does I am also amazed at how often the bleachers razz and outfielder and the he hits a home run the very next inning, smh. Happened with Kai Roberts from Utah on Friday night.

I remember years ago someone in the RF bleachers looked up Jace Peterson's social media and found his girlfriend's name and photos during a regional game at Goss. Jace did not look amused.

I was talking to a former college pitcher and I asked him what was the best heckling effort he could remember. He said that one game he had thrown over to first several times consecutively trying to pick a runner off and a dude yelled "Your mom showed me better moves last night!". He said he could have been called for a balk as he attempted not to laugh.
