LOB was really bad this weekend, even though the Beavers scored a lot of runs. Pair that with the pitching and it was a recipe for disaster.

Another just awful performance by our DH - zero hits for a three game series, just brutal - seven LOB for Guerra, thank you for the HR in the first, but decided not to show for the rest of the game- Forrester nice Friday but after that - supposed to be leader

This team is not mature enough to win games like yesterday and today. Too many guys not doing their jobs

Hats off to ASU. I thought we were the better team after friday. I was wrong. ASU persevered. Our pitching really came back down to earth this weekend. Arizona: where pitching staffs go to die. Going into the weekend, fans were bombarded with "2nd best ERA in the Nation" stuff. In this 4/21-23 weekend series (error free btw) the pitching staff was: WHIP 2.00 (ugh) and ERA 11.7 (well beyond ugh). Who's left to pitch tomorrow vs. GCU ?

We will be ok. Make the tournament and maybe make some noise depending on the draw. Lots of carnage, but some positive developments as well this weekend.

I don't think I've ever seen a staff wide meltdown on the mound in a single weekend. Lucky to not get swept. It begins with alleged PAC 12 caliber starting pitchers not being able to throw more than 5 innings. A grand total of 12 2/3 innings by the 3 starters. That will tax the pen. Sellers and Kmatz have been solid for almost every start this season. They are Pac-12 caliber starters who had bad days at a very tough ballpark for pitchers.

ASU may well be really good next year but their Pitching is far from the best around. It was frustrating seeing them drilling the ball with runners on. Not many K's at all and few when they had runners on. Why our guys can't get the ball in play and take called 3rd strikes is enough to pull your toenails out to feel better.

In 2006 Buck, Paterson and Grbavac gave up 10 runs, we blew a lead when ASU scored 8 runs in an inning late.
Gunderson blew a lead on Saturday and give up four runs in one inning. We blew a late lead again.
Stutes got bombed for five runs in 1.1 inning on Sunday. We won that game, but still lost the series.
All quality pitchers. ASU is just a tough place to pitch when it warms up.

Who the heck is left to pitch tomorrow? And what is the point of this series vs GCU?

ASU will be scary next year.....they are very young Next year, in Goss. We win the series. No doubt. Well, yea I like us at Goss too, but that's a long way off. I watched damn near every pitch of this series, and I came away very impressed with the dirt devils.....and they didn't even have their best player in Ryan Campos. I believe he's on the golden spikes watchlist. Anyway, in my frustration Im not going to discount what they did to our pitching staff.....and coming back in dramatic fashion Sat and sun. Coming into the weekend, we were leading the conference in ERA. I'm assuming not so much after this series. I'm not giving up on our staff......you always get a chance to respond to getting your ass kicked.....be interesting to see how our guys respond.

and we play Grand Canyon tomorrow.....focus likely not worth crap for that one I suspect Mitch would say it's better than having them linger on the gut wrenching loss. Get them back up on the horse.

I seriously think pulling the squad out of barely 50 degree temperatures and having them play in 90 degree heat is a bigger factor in these games than the quality of the players. Likewise, I think ASU in Corvallis in drizzly 50 degree weather won't find the same success that they had this weekend.
