Whole lot of teams dropping series or even getting swept.
#2 Wake going to rubber game against Pitt #3 Florida getting swept by #6 SC #4 Vandy 0-2 against TN #5 Arkansas getting swept by Georgia #7 East Car down 0-1 and second game is 7-0 Wichita #9 Furd down 3-0 in game 2 of UW, dropped game.1. #13 KU in danger of losing series to TAM #14 Texas dropped series to Oklahoma #23 Pukes losing to Cal, could force a rubber game.

Stanford has now been officially been shut out in Game two v. UW, 9-0. Ducks today (Saturday) with just 3 outs remaining v. Cal (Cal up by 2 runs in the 8th). UPDATE - Bears beat Ducks

What it really all says IMHO... the Pac12 is a bit down and overrated in the polls. So, take nothing forgranted.
As I've not seen anyone unbeatable, nor an auto win. Yet, I've really not seen any team I'd pick to win a Super. Teams get hot, but I could see the (9) team Pac12 tourney being a hot mess.
By the way, there were a multitude of options to adjust the postseason tourney without the BS excuse of involving another team! I can't wait for all the relatively non- baseball tie breakers after several teams tie for the 3rd and/or 4th spot(s).
And, to me the simple solution was to not have the tourney try to emulate NCAA play...
(8) teams 1st (4) games are single elim Last (4) standing play dbl elim
But, we will see??

I think they wanted to guarantee two games, so starting with single elimination wasn't really an option. Could reverse it, go with two double elimination, then single in the final 4, but then you could have to play 5 games to win. Here, it's 4 at most. I don't love it, but like you said, I guess we'll see.

My big concern is all the possible ties possible... in each pool and over all three pools. Dumb arse tiebreakers are far worse than single elim. IMHO

I think the 2 game minimum is just about travel. Why fly in for the tourney if you get bounced in 3 hours?

I think the 2 game minimum is just about travel. Why fly in for the tourney if you get bounced in 3 hours? That's what's going to happen for 4 teams in the conference softball tournament. Its an 8-team single elimination bracket, but they can get bounced in 2 hours instead.

I think the 2 game minimum is just about travel. Why fly in for the tourney if you get bounced in 3 hours? Hoops teams have done it for multiple postseason tourneys for years.

IMHO It's the post-2016 ACC Tournament with an added tiebreaker. All ties go to the highest-ranked team. The #1 seed is guaranteed a semifinal game with one Tournament win. It should work out better than the ACC Tournament usually does. No BS 8-10 Championship Games like last year in the ACC.
