From what we have seen it looks like Junk could really slow these guys down. Sellers had a heck of time landing his breaking ball and still did fairly well. Not many K's which was odd for him. Throw a lot of FB and we will be playing chase all night long. Easy to say but hard to do, we need a Pitcher tonight landing Junk.

We need to throw strike 1, and we need more consistent contact at the plate. We can not count on two HR a game from Forrester. The eye test said we are better than they are and we just have to play like it.

I’m curious about how the dry heat affected pitching. If at all. Sellers wasn’t himself. Our relief pitching struggled too.
Maybe junk is harder to control in the heat. Hope not. Hope it was just a fluke.
It was unusual for our pitching motto quiet the opponent’s bats.

Looked to me like pitchers on both sides were struggling with mound conditions...except the last two who pitched for us.

1) Stay ahead of the count. These guys are FB hitters, and they like to put the ball in the air.
2) Put the ball in play, they are not good defensively.

What is needed is for Kmatz to keep the ball in the park.
ASU is very capable of the long ball (53 HR this season to date - by comparison, Beavs have 42).
Kmatz in his 1-1/2 seasons has many positives, with dishing up HR balls being one his few negatives.
Freshman season he yielded 9 HR (more than double any other Beaver pitcher in 2022). This season, it's similar.

Announcers that don't make up names? Who's Jacob Kooomatz, Gooeera and Banana?

The ASU Announcers were beyond pathetic. Hated to listen but MP was ahead of the crummy streaming. I have fast internet and Pac 12 Insider still sucks, stops, starts does whatever it wants. Then you have to back out and start all over.

Well, ASU got the best of our pitching last night. I expect us to respond today. This season, they haven't been good on Sundays. Our hitters should feast on their lack of pitching depth.......but it's baseball, and they have a dangerous lineup, as we saw, so who knows.

Then you have to back out and start all over. If you have Alexa, tell it to 'go to twelve forty am radio'. When Mike comes on, and you have the game streamed on TV, tell Alexa to 'pause' for a few seconds and then, 'start'. It might take a few times to get it synced, buy it does work. Then when the Pac 12 Insider screws up, rinse and repeat. MB.
