I think Oregon State probably lost two spots on that Portland-Oregon result. Stanford looks like they may be upset by Sac State, which will probably cost Oregon State another spot. Oh well...........watching games at Goss in June is downright dull anyway. Stanford dug itself a 15-2 hole and came all the way back to pull within two. But the Cardinal let their last best chance slip away after an inning-ending double play in the seventh, and no other Stanford player reached in the eighth or ninth. Sac State 15 - Stanford 13. The Beavs look like they will finish with an RPI of 40. The Devils and their #27 RPI up next. Each win is worth 1.3 wins. That adds up fast. Worth 13 wins or 1.3 spots on the RPI ranking?

OSU moved up in Nolan live RPI from 40 to 39 right after the Portland game was registered. UP moved up 11 spots to 118, and since we play them 2x it is probably important that they stay in top 150 (out of Q4). Since it was a home game for UP, the road loss does not hurt the Pac team as much. OTOH, a short time later 2 results knocked OSU back down to RPI 40 - Stanford home loss to RPI 180 Sac State and the ucla home loss to loss to Irvine. UCLA barely hurts us, because they are an opponent's opponent still. The Bruins are down to 36 in RPI, though. And UCLA has the third-best RPI of all remaining opponents behind Oregon and Arizona State. That is not looking great all of a sudden. Oregon State really does not have a ton of margin for error here. With the upcoming schedule, you probably need to get to at least 40 regular season wins to see a Corvallis Regional, and that still may not be enough. If all three of those Western Carolina games rain out, that may be a blessing. There are only seven great games left for RPI purposes but there are no other really bad games, except for the Western Carolina series.

Utah up by 2 TDS over BYU 28-14 in the bottom of the 8th Pitchers duel. BYU actually had a no-hitter going into the fourth but gave up six runs, five unearned in that stretch. Utah started the bottom of the fourth with an error and subsequently gave up six runs. After that, it just got silly.

Solid win! Lots of teams slipped up tonight. Good to take care of business. 7 straight wins, let's make it 10! Longest current winning streaks: 1. Army, Dallas Baptist, and Indiana State 11
Dallas Baptist and Indiana State have played their way into the top 16 with their winning streaks. Indiana State's 11-game winning streak includes wins against Indiana, which sits atop the Big Ten with nine conference wins, and Vandy, which sits atop the SEC with 13 conference wins, at Nashville. Dallas is starting to look like a serious contender to host. I don't know if Indiana State is in the same boat.
4. East Carolina 8
Similar to Dallas Baptist and Indiana State, East Carolina has played its way into the top 16 with their winning streak.
5. Kent State, Oral Roberts, and Oregon State 7
Kent State has played their way into the Tournament bubble conversation. Oral Roberts needs to keep winning.
If Oregon State can stretch that winning streak to 10, that could really help the Beavers' cause in the upcoming NCAA Regional Projections and regular season rankings.

Baz with 5 stolen bases. MP says it's a record. Oregon State's record was four held by Steve "Psycho" Lyons in 1979 and David Anderson in 1991. And Baz wound up with five.

What has happened to our offense? Ever since the UW series it seems as if we decided to become a running team. I can’t remember when we have been so quick to steal a base. Even multiple successful steals of 3b Since the Holy Saturday game against Oregon, Oregon State has stolen 22 bases in 24 attempts. That is the most in seven games since 2011: Hartford, Hartford, Hartford, Hartford, Oregon, New Mexico State, and the Virginia Military Institute. Basically, yeah, you have seen the most steals over the last seven games against mostly legitimate opponents since at least 1999.

Utah up by 2 TDS over BYU 28-14 in the bottom of the 8th Pitchers duel. They are letting the batting team provide the pitchers.

Since around the same time, bunt attempts have skyrocketed as well, if I’m not mistaken. We’re seeing much more energy and it’s leading to good things.
