I would expect a couple of our current pitchers to be picked as well.

$1.4 Million pretty much says Caraway never wears a Beav Uniform.

I would be shocked if Forrester went that high. Scouts look for tools. Garrett is a really good college player but really doesn’t have any projectable tools. Below major league average in arm strength, power, running speed. And where does he play, first and third are premium power positions. No shame at all, Garrett has been a great beaver but that’s why MLB is an exclusive club

But he gets on base, and he has more power than Steven Kwan, let's say. I could see a low-budget team, like Pittsburgh, taking say a fifth round flier on him.

What about Bazzana since he’s international player?

I think Forrester will have a KJ Harrison type pro career. I believe Bazzana and all international players who go to a four-year school are treated the same as Americans regarding the draft.

Are the A's still Moneyballin' it? Forrester might fit the profile.

Are the A's still Moneyballin' it? Forrester might fit the profile. The A's have to Moneyball it. Guys that don't strike out with decent power are a prized commodity. He is a great first baseman and plays a decent third. I have tough time seeing anyone going with Forrester in the first three rounds, unless Forrester flips a switch soon. But I could easily see Forrester being taken in the next three rounds and hoping that they can get him to put on a little more muscle with a professional training regimen. Most of the stadiums in the Pac-12 play very big. A lot of scouts were amazed at the power that Kwanny showed in the Minors. Cold, humid, and wet tends to deflate power numbers across the board.

The Beavs have 3 recruits listed in Rawlings-Perfect Game's Top-100 for the 2023 class. All will bear watching in the upcoming MLB Draft.
#37 IF/P Trent Caraway - polished player with advanced hit tool. 6.60 speed in the 60. #79 P Paul Wilson - 93/94 heat with sweeping slider. More in the tank. #100 P James DeCremer - has touched 96 mph, good secondary stuff. Competitor !
