Baseball America views the ASU series as a big challenge. It's all of that, and for the Beavers, a golden opportunity to reap the rewards of their hard work to get back in the hunt for a P-12 title.
"No. 18 Arizona State opens the stretch run with a big series against No. 19 Oregon State. The Sun Devils (25-10, 11-3) sit atop the Pac-12 standings, a half-game up on No. 11 Stanford, as they begin the second half of conference play. ASU’s remaining schedule is difficult, however, starting with this weekend’s showdown against Oregon State (24-11, 10-8). The Beavers are on a six-game winning streak and have won back-to-back Pac-12 series, taking down Oregon and Southern California. A weekend at Phoenix Municipal Stadium presents another big challenge."

ASU has been very good at home at 17-3..... interestingly, the three losses were a 3 game sweep by Irvine.
Beyond that, their schedule is very front loaded, much like USC's. They've played Utah, wazzu, ARZ, Cal, and U dub.....they split two with U dub, Sunday game was rained out and not made up yet.
They lost 2 of 3 at Miss St, and lost a two game midweek series at Okie st.
This feels like their biggest challenge to date.....ours was probly hole
Forks down!!!

sorta sad for one of the biggest P11 series thus far, it is relegated to streaming only... If you have Xfinity, I've found you can say "Pac-12 Insider" to it and it sends you to a free stream of it through it's network of things...pretty convenient when it's on Pac-12 Insider like all 3 games are vs just the team streams (doesn't work for that)

The ASU series reminds me a lot of the USC series-- we're both hot teams, BUT, like USC, ASU hasn't really had to deal with a whole lot of PAC challenges yet. I give us a better than 50-50 shot at 2/3 in Phoenix...even a Beav sweep wouldn't shock the heck out of me, but pretty unlikely this time around.

Been to a few series there. Tough place to play. The ball rockets out of there, the infield is lightening quick and it’s a high sky. Sometimes can be overwhelming, hope our young guys are ready to go.

Either way looking forward to this series! In addition to the geographic PAC 12 stations, Sling has the PAC 12 Insider channel. They really buried the channel toward the end of the guide vs. placing next to the other PAC channels.

ASU isn't the same team as last year. Last year at Goss we pummeled them in historic fashion.
Game 1 a 21-0 victory Game 2 a 12-2 victory Game 3 a 1-3 loss(We had a 1-0 lead going into the 9th)
All their starters are new from a year ago:
Ross Dunn LHP who transferred from Florida St Kristian Curtis RHP who transferred from Texas A&M Jonah Giblin RHP who transferred from Phoenix College
Also they're hitting the ball pretty well.
"My prediction is we take 2 of 3, down in the great land known as the Southwest."

Their team ERA is trash, not that ERA is everything, but it's an indicator.
Finishing with the tougher half of the conference, let's start their decline with a sweep.

Sometimes can be overwhelming, hope our young guys are ready to go. The weather is set to be: 86/57 87/59 92/62 No precipitation. That is actually below average on Friday and Saturday but average on Sunday. Oregon State lost two of three at Phoenix Municipal in 2021, but the gametime temperature was 99 and 94 in the losses in May. The park should not play as small as it did back in 2021 on Friday and Saturday. Hopefully, it cools off more. Oregon State's hitters are coming on, but the strength of the team still is pitching, so cooler weather would be welcome.
