Ethan Thompson is making his official recruiting visit this weekend. So is Christian Negron, a 4* PF from IL. He was a teammate of Thompson's in the spring and summer. He has offers from Bradley, DePaul, Illinois and Iowa. He seems undersized for a PF, as he's just 6'6." OregonLive

Negron has trimmed down his list to 5 which includes the Beavs.

I still don't get how recruits are using the old logo in these edits. Doesn't really give me the impression they're THAT interested in coming to OSU.

Is it possible the logo has something to do with the problem? We have seen these "short list" tweets with the interlocked OS, the angry beaver, the new Beaver logo.....maybe we have been switching logos too frequently? Many schools have so much invested in their "brand" that they are loathe to mess with it. We decided to revise rapidly for whatever reasons......note that I am now OK with the new logo, though I still miss the "Oregon State" font that I thought was a real winner from a few years ago vs. the "T connected to E" block letters we have now. Go Beavs!

I get that, but how closely is the kid paying attention to Oregon State if he's approving his buddy's edit with a four year old logo?

I orginally thought na might stand for north albany? Seems to be never a. You asked a negative in tone question that got 2 different rational and reasonable responses. Then you choose to continue to gnaw on that negative bone. I get it with football. Why continue to pee in the OSU athletic pool. Especially with where men's hoops is and where it has come from? Each to their own and you are entitled to your opinion...I just don't get it.

Well I guess if he chooses Oregon State over Bradley and UAB against these stacked odds - the wrong logo on a tweet - it will be a miracle. This conspiracy goes all the way to the top Scully.

The players approve some random dude's photo edit? "I think you could work on the kerning a little bit on this text..."

He tweeted it out himself! It wasn't a retweet or anything, he had that picture in his possession before it went out on the internet, and he said "looks good!" and put it out there.
For what it's worth, Loyola and Bradley have only been using those logos since 2012. He got those right.

Each to their own and you are entitled to your opinion...I just don't get it. I love where our basketball team is. I have zero problems with how it's being run, what the coaches are doing, or the kids we are recruiting. All I said is that it bothers me that four years after we switched our logo, people can't get it right. That's it. Maybe the kid loves us...but he's not watching a bunch of games on TV or paying attention to the letters we send him with (hopefully) the correct logo on them. That's my point. If he comes here and plays and is a force, awesome. I'll cheer my butt off for him. But it hurts me every time our logo is used incorrectly or I'm in another part of the country and someone says "you're the Ducks, right?" My point is that people don't understand or get how truly special this place is like we all do, and I wish we got the recognition and respect we deserve.

But that's kind of my point....this isn't a random school that he's sees only occasionally. This is apparently one of the six universities he is considering spending the next four years of his life at, wearing the logo every day....and he is unconcerned with getting it right? Kind of flies in the face of all this branding and "uniforms/logos" matter to recruits stuff that we hear all the time.

If we take your point, that he intentionally used the old logo, maybe he prefers the old logo? Many still do. I still think this is a "much ado about nothing" topic. Are all the other logos on the tweet current?

You clearly don't spend much time around high school kids. I've survived 3 and coached plenty. "Getting it right" ( in a tweet) is about 79th on the list. Behind "turn in late math assignment" which is way down at #78 and just ahead of #80 "I'm not sure who's shorts I'm wearing. I don't think these are mine." This may surprise you, but attention to detail/common sense/remembering laws of physics/remembering hygiene are all a crapshoot at age 16/17/18. This actually doesn't make him a monster for using the 2012 Beaver logo ( in a tweet), though feel free to hold that against him.
