Isn't 2nd place a possibility? Maybe not likely but if the yucks lose more games than we do down the stretch seems possible.
Since we are talking what is possible... we would also need to win the UCLA series down in LA.

How about just starting with SC. If you don't when this series OSU probably has to win every remaining series to get to 5th.

thanks for nothing 'furd Lost again today to the *ucks...both game complete games by their starting pitching.. Honestly, Oregon wins help Oregon State's RPI more in the long-run. Plus, Oregon State is not out of the Pac-12 race. The Beavs have not won a Pac-10/12 Regular Season Championship since 2017. That is Oregon State's longest drought, since the gap between 2006 and 2013 Pac-10/12 Championships. Oregon State started Friday down 4.5 games back of Stanford and is now only 2.5 games back. Arizona State now sits atop the Pac-12, a game ahead of Stanford. And the Beavs head down to Phoenix to play the Devils in six days. Oregon State in 2023 and Stanford in 2022 started 1-5. By this time in 2022, Stanford was 10-7. 2023 Oregon State is 9-8, a game back. Stanford finished 11-2 and 18-3 to win the Pac-12 en route To Omaha. Oregon State can put itself on that trajectory with another win here tomorrow. But Stanford losses appear to help Oregon State at the moment.

How did we do against these same pitchers that furd fell apart on? I don’t get furd lots of power? Oregon State's batters had a field day against Stanford pitching. Ferrer had his worst weekend ever against the Cardinal, basically the difference between an Oregon State series win and a Stanford sweep. Oregon State scored more runs against Stanford than in any three-game series back to Coppin State. The Beavers scored exactly the same amount of runs in the four-game series in San Luis Obispo. Oregon State would tie or best the Stanford series for runs scored with four or more runs against USC today. Jace Stoffal has not given up an earned run since the second inning against Arizona. Only five Oregon State players reached against Stoffal. Oregon State only managed one run against Logan Mercado, same as Stanford but Mercado threw more pitches against Oregon State than he did in the first eight innings against Stanford. The only runs that the Beavs were able to cobble together was on Micah McDowell's two-out three-run shot in the seventh against Matthew Grabman. The Beav hitters were much better at grinding against the Ducks pitchers, stretching out at bats, and getting into the bullpen, which appears to be Oregon's Achilles heel. As I said before the Stanford v. Oregon series, I am not that impressed with the Cardinal, and the Ducks lucked out and are playing a tired Stanford team. (12 games in 17 days, 10 away from Sunken Diamond, and the two at Sunken Diamond were against Texas Tech.) Oregon State got a much more well-rested Stanford.
