Don’t expect that position to be filled till July….when the contract of Jenny expires. That doesn’t mean their isn’t a list being formalized.

Don’t expect that position to be filled till July….when the contract of Jenny expires. That doesn’t mean their isn’t a list being formalized. This makes sense. Thanks for the info. I'm sure there are a number of potential hire's expressing interest. |

I'm sure there are a number of potential hire's expressing interest. Totally legitimate budget concerns with filling the role prior to Huth coming off the books. With that said, waiting that long would leave them one coach down during an important recruiting time, especially with portal options. I think they should fill it as soon as possible. I think there is a recruiting weekend in April and another in May. But July is the more important time for HS recruits. Plus June is a big camp month. Not filling the role until July puts an extra burden on Jonas and Devon. Hopefully they are all over the portal right now. |

Totally legitimate budget concerns with filling the role prior to Huth coming off the books. I'm guessing JH makes about $15k/month, assuming the new hire is between $150-180k ( I thing Jonah makes in the $185k range) there's about $30k overlap for one month (excluding bennies). If they hire someone with less HC/assistant experience than JH, then we're talking less (I think as a relative newbie DH makes around $90k). But, if OSU's WBB budget is that tight there is a lot more wrong than the W/L column. |

Depending on the hire they have a contract which may have stipulations that have legal or monetary implications that will not allow a hire to be announced as of now. My guess is that there have been informal contacts for a while now. Maybe even interviews and a narrowing of the field. |
